Zuri cries as she lifts her hand to gesture to all the things and I grow even more confused. I know all these things, but I still don't understand what is making her unhappy. She will see her friends again. She will grow accustomed to the big house. And as far as her life on her home planet, that is gone. She was sick, dying even. Life on her planet was over. He leaves me close to them and disappears into the crowd. The others return, and when the males walk away, Zuri exhales loudly. "That was interesting," she says, and I look at her to ensure she is okay. She sees me looking and gives me a reassuring look before explaining. "They dance funny," Zuri explains, and I grin before looking back out toward the other groups. "At least that was your only complaint. My partner asked me about the four of you instead of asking anything about me," Xiu grumbles, and my eyebrows lift.

Jayan grins triumphantly down at me. One of his hands lifts to adjust the hair that’s fallen over my temple, but he checks himself at the last moment and pulls it back. “All right. What else does she like?” This time, when I give her a meaningful look, Zuri rolls her eyes and chooses to back me up. “You’ll have to figure it out yourself, guys. I’m not a snitch.” She lowers her voice to a stage whisper. “But a little birdie did tell me that she likes a certain sexy, rich, ice elemental.”

I roared and pushed Zuri away. Zuri fell to the floor, shifted back, and screamed, "You will regret this, Mikel. If anything happens to Damien, I will avenge his death and kill that human mate of yours and her babies!" Zuri roared, shifting into her black dragon form and flew away. I wasn't afraid of Zuri's threat, but I knew if I didn't discipline them, especially Damien, they wouldn't relent and would continue to scheme to dethrone me and have Damien rule all the wings.
