Mickey stood in the center of the sacred circle, his fifteen-year-old frame trembling with anticipation and barely contained energy that seemed to make the very air around him shimmer. I watched from the edge of the clearing, my arms wrapped protectively around my younger children—eight-year-old Emma and six-year-old Daniel, both born in the years of relative peace that had followed Mickey's arrival. Emma had my green eyes and her father's determination, while Daniel possessed Mickey's unusual perceptiveness and an empathy that seemed to extend to every living creature he encountered. The movie was good, but the 3 of them ended up falling asleep before the movie ended. At 6 am, Micky gets out of bed, does his morning rituals, gets dressed, kisses Kat and Alex on the lips, making them mumble words he doesn't understand, and goes out to the kitchen, where the shewolves were preparing breakfast for the pack. I began my picture job again as I captured all their happy moves in the Runaway. Then we headed to the Chip N Dale's Gadgetcoaster. Emelia's call suddenly came in, and I wondered why she was calling me. Did she perhaps think I had already kidnapped her kids and run away? Wanting to make her tense, I decided not to pick up her call and declined it while I continued taking the pictures.

Naw Mwikey is hangwey.” Mikey turned his head and smiled the moment his cute little eyes locked on me. “Wuna!” he shouted, but not loud enough to disturb a lot of people. Just loud enough to be scolded by his father. “Oops, sworree,” he said as he got down off the chair and started running towards me.

Mikey and I said in unison. "Sure" I brought popcorn and drinks in my room and got comfortable as Mikey put on a show. Almost thirty minutes later into the show. "I knew it, I knew the bitch was evil" Mikey screamed at my flatscreen, and the popcorn he was chewing flew out of his mouth. "Micah calm down" I stared at the chewed pieces on my rug and bed. I remain silent during this process, still not sure what to think about this situation. “Oh, this isn’t good.” Axel exclaims, checking his phone. “I have an alert, the police are looking for a fugitive with telekinetic abilities who may be able to identify a high-risk Abnormal known as a ‘Mimic’.” He looks confused and turns to Myah, “Do you know what a Mimic is?” He asks. If ‘work’ had been what she was doing, she could only wish the rest of her days working were exactly like it. “We did stop, but only at the General Electric exhibit. It was hysterical, Evie, maybe the best thing of all. Mickey managed to steal the baby doll from their burglar-proof crib without the alarm going off! There was this big to-do and we were thrown out of the exhibit in a hurry.” Lily burst into laughter remembering. Scraping the veggies into a pan, Evelyn gave her a disapproving glance then grinned. “Oh, Lily!” But she had to admit, it must have been a terrible embarrassment for GE, and if nothing else, at least Mickey was reliable.

Mickey asked. He showed them the picture he’d snapped on his phone. They all started giggling. He’d written the words “send help” in huge letters across the back yard. Em shook her head at him. “You really ain’t right sir.” She told him, as she often did. He smirked and winked. Then … as he often did…. He booped her on the nose. Then he ran outside a second time to measure again and came back in and yelled “Seven inches!!!!”
