He sat lounging at the head of a marble table, dark suit tailored to his lean frame, rings glinting on his fingers, his serpent tattoo curling down the side of his throat like it owned him.
When he smiled, it didn’t reach his eyes.
“Aria,” he purred. “The infamous Costa bride.”
She held her chin high, refusing to bow. “I’m not his bride.”
“Not yet,” he said, standing. “But soon, yes? A child. How precious. Costa didn’t mention that detail when we last spoke.”
