Yearning for Her Return

Yearning for Her Return

He looked at her in anticipation. Wendy's heart was in a mess. "Mr. Johnson, please don't joke around," she said after a long silence. In the end, she had to stop having such daydreams. "If this is about my resignation, perhaps you can give me some time off. You know that I haven't taken a day off after my family matter three years ago. I'm just a little tired. That's why I sent you that resignation in a fit of pique tonight. Please excuse it."

I like the depth of this book, the character of the FL wherein she learns a lot in her life experiences, her moving on from the past and enjoying her life in the present. Not the typical love story wherein after all the heartaches, betrayal & rejection, still the FL gives the ML a second chance.

I stopped reading this book the moment Rebecca got married to someone else and Daniel is dying of late stage cancer, after all he suffered in the hands of his evil brother and family, I expected a happy ending for him and Rebecca but the writer chose other wise. He doesn't deserve this tragic ending

I Don't Want To Live With A Billionaire

I asked. “No more problem,” he said. “Oh, that’s good news. I knew you could fix it,” I said. “I resigned,” he said next. “What did you say?” I asked. It’s unbelievable. “I’m out of there,” he said. “Were you fired?” I asked. “I resigned,” he reiterated. “But you loved that company,” I said. “I did but I couldn’t take Quim’s mistreatment of me like I didn’t do anything for his company when in fact I did a lot,” he said.

The Ring He Gave to the Wrong Woman

The Ring He Gave to the Wrong Woman

Only now did I understand that his care had always come with condescension. I forced the emotion down and kept my voice steady. “Mr. Stockdale, I’m here to submit my resignation, not to be insulted. Under my contract, I have the right to leave.” At that form of address, something shifted in Ross’s eyes. For a moment, he seemed about to say something, but he quickly pushed the feeling down and shoved the resignation letter back across the desk. “Enough. If you’re unwell, go home and rest for a few days. Don’t embarrass yourself here.”

Mated To The Brutal Alpha

I whisper. He nods once, already turning away. “Kael,” I call before he can take another step. He pauses but doesn’t face me. “Dr. Jessica has resigned…Do… Do you know why?” He turns back slowly. His expression hardens, “I had a chat with her,” he says calmly. “She was a problem… Now she isn’t.” My breath hitches. My lips part, but nothing comes out. I furrow my brows in confusion, trying to understand. “What did you tell her?”

The Final Goodbye

The Final Goodbye

He dropped it on the desk. “My resignation letter,” he said, his voice calm but cold. Alex blinked, staring at the envelope as if it were poison. “What?” James didn’t repeat himself. He straightened his suit and added quietly, “It’s been an honor working here. But I’m done, Alex. It’s time I call it a quit.” He turned, heading for the door. It took Alex a few seconds to react. He sprang up from his chair. “James, wait!” James stopped at the door but didn’t turn.

The Luna's Vampire Prince

The Luna's Vampire Prince

I waggle my eyebrows at him, trying to lighten the mood, but he ignores my attempt at humor and answers the question like I was serious. “No, definitely not. He’s offered to resign over it, which sucks because this is a job he’s worked hard for over a century to earn. No, it’s definitely not him.” I wonder if there’s a chance it’s a job Dr. Jerim actually doesn’t want, but I keep that to myself. “So the problem is you don’t know what’s killing them?”

Love this book! Ainslee is amazing character, she is fiesty, has a fiery temper and such a beautiful heart. Rafe is very noble, has a fighting spirit and knows what he wants! The story is fascinating, strong character growth and wonderful storytelling! I can't wait for more updates.

Awesome underrated book. Totally glad I gave it a shot. Ainslee is a spitfire despite how grim things were. Great plotline with lots of heat, twists and drama to keep me invested. Some typo errors but has good grammer so understandable. Would be interesting to have baby drake’s story

I Confessed to Him, Now He's My Boss

I Confessed to Him, Now He's My Boss

“Are you trying to kill yourself? Pushing yourself this far? If you’re feeling awful, why didn’t you call me to keep you company?” Edward looked like he wanted to laugh, but the attempt quickly dissolved into a fit of coughing. I filled him in on everything that had happened earlier, finishing with, “I’m planning to resign.” “What?” Edward froze, caught completely off guard. “Why?” I fed him a spoonful of soup and replied, “I’ve been with this company since I graduated. It’s been six years now. The work pressure is too much, and I want to take a break for a while.”

My Mirror Image

"You're resigning?" Candice remained composed. "My contract is up, and I've already mentioned this. My resignation is in effect. I'll be leaving in a month." Alex's eyes were devoid of expression as he silently considered her words. Then he smiled scornfully. "Fine, I agree." Exiting Alex’s office, Candice relaxed her tense grip and paused momentarily at the door before moving on. - Today was Joe's discharge day. After an extended workday, Candice picked him up and escorted him to the nursing home.

The Collision

The Collision

We were going to figure out a way around this. There was a sudden rush of silence that had me snapping out of my reverie. Up there, Dylan stood with the rest of the board behind Shawn, who from the looks of it wasn’t done with his announcement. “As you all know, I haven’t been in the right state of health to show up at the office for the past couple of months.” He said. “My health is rapidly deteriorating, and as such, I feel now is the time to take a step back from active duty to spend the rest of my time left with my family. It is with this conviction that I am resigning from my post as president of this prestigious institution.”

In-Love with More than One

The house is quiet. I open my email. The cursor blinks at me. I blink back, not sure what to say at first. But the words come eventually. I draft the whole thing twice before I get to something that feels like enough—but not too much. Subject: Resignation – Parker Simon To the Partners of VT Global, Effective immediately, I am resigning from my role as executive assistant and event coordinator. I want to thank you for the opportunity and for everything I’ve learned in my time with the firm. This was a difficult decision, but I believe it’s the right one—for me, and for the company.
