Jade: The Hybrid Mage
“I’m dying, Jade. Slowly, but surely. And I don’t know how much time I have left.”
The admission chilled me. Despite everything, the thought of being left alone here terrified me.
“You can’t leave me,” I said, my voice trembling. “We’ll get through this together. There has to be a way out. We’ll find it.”
Klaus didn’t respond immediately. When he finally spoke, his voice was heavy with resignation. “I’m glad I met you, Jade. Because of you, I can die without fear. Thank you.”
“No!” I snapped. “Don’t say that. We’re not dying here. There’s going to be light after this darkness. Joy after this pain. You’ll see your daughter again. Your wife will forgive you. But we have to keep fighting!”
