[Max’s POV] I knew something was off about tonight before we met her. My wolf, Dom, has been whimpering and pacing for the past hour, in my head. The smell of jasmine and lavender filled our noses the moment she collided with Sam outside the room. Her smell is intoxicating! What was she doing here? Who is she with? She has a pup, and I cannot wait to meet him. There is an age gap, as I am 37 and she is 42. “Dating an older woman,” Dom smirked and laughed to me. I have waited so long to meet my mate.

A mated pair can be together then. It's very difficult when the mate bond is discovered early. It's a rough math, and has been known to vary, but it's a good base to go off of

His smile made her gasp as the menace disappeared and she saw what a handsome man he actually was. “Yes.” Looking past his shoulder, Maya couldn’t stop the curiosity from making her speak. “How old are you?” “I’m thirty-nine years old.” Fourteen years’ age difference. He didn’t look a day past thirty. There were no graying hairs or major wrinkles on his face. He looked good for his age, but most wolves looked good.

He grinned up at me. “Well, then, tell me about your mate. How old are you? Almost thirty? Surely you must have found your mate by now?” I asked, returning his smile. “I’m 25 and so far, no mate in sight.” He shrugged, although I could hear the pain in his voice, “I’m not good with women honestly and I don’t really go out looking either to be fair, but she’s definitely not in this pack or my wolf would have scented her by now.”

Her eyes were a pale blue, like a foggy morning sky giving way to the sun. I like how she smells. She is not dangerous. Dane said with a hint of lust in his deep voice. Nick gently asked her, “What have you done to yourself young lady?” They were all young to him. Werewolves age much slower than humans so our perspective on age is quite different. At over 150 years old, the oldest human grandma was still a ‘young lady’ to Nick and he loved making them all blush. “It was an accident.” She mumbled awkwardly.

I said. “I can give you a work out right here. Come on, baby. Stay in bed with me. I didn’t get to have late mornin’s in bed with my girl. I’m an old man. Let me have this. I’ll take you to the gym tomorrow. I promise.” Ford whined. I laughed. He wasn’t even thirty yet, and most werewolves lived to be over one hundred. Their life span was only a decade or so shorter than a demon’s.
