I shake my head, “No, we are.” He looks at me curiously, and I tell him, “Growing up, we had a dog named Sasha. She had puppies when I was about six. One of the puppies was named General. When I was twelve, General got out of the backyard because the neighbor's dog was in heat. From that litter, we got Sarge. He’s old and grumpy but very loyal. From the day we brought him home until the day I moved out, Sarge followed me everywhere. When I visit, he’s like my shadow.”
