At the cabinet full of things I'd never seen before. I was a virgin. Twenty-three years old. He was pointing eagerly toward the water, jumping with excitement. “Lucas! Look!” he shouted. “A dolphin! A big one!” Everyone turned just in time to see a sleek gray dolphin arc out of the water beside the yacht, droplets sparkling like diamonds in the sun. Kyle clapped his hands, beaming. “It’s like our pendant!”

My head spun with dizziness, and fear coiled tight in my stomach. The dolphins whistled sharply, alarmingly, their bodies tense against mine. One darted forward, slapping its tail against the water. The other echoed the call, shrill and urgent. And then, like magic, five more dolphins appeared, cutting through the waves with speed and grace. I blinked, salt stinging my eyes. “You called for help…” My voice cracked with disbelief. The pod closed in, forming a half-circle around me. Their sleek bodies moved with unison, an unspoken rhythm that made the shark hesitate.

The dolphins were taking their time circling the two Atlanteans, who were mesmerized by their playful dance. ‘Guys, listen. I need one of you to steal the thing that one of them is holding.’ With all that has happened, I forgot to even ask for their names to address them adequately. But I guess that this will have to do. ‘Lulu, you go.’ I heard the larger one telling his friend. ‘I’ll distract them.’ He did several backflips to capture the attention of both Emily and Watson while the smaller one, Lulu, sneaked behind Watson and grabbed the tracker from his hand.
