Benton’s attention. “Have a seat, please,” the woman said finally. Ava gladly did as she was told. She was so tired from the trip and hiding her real emotions that sitting was welcome. Mrs. Benton didn’t have a smile on her face as she pushed some paperwork in front of her. “Name?” Mrs. Benton asked. “Ava. Ava Morgan.” A folder appeared in front of the older woman, making Ava almost jump out of her seat. Mrs. Benton stopped in the middle of opening the folder and raised her brow at her in question. She tried to calm her heartbeat as she gave an overly bright smile.

All he cared about was his woman. Theo watched as Leah landed her beautiful red dragon in the clearing a few feet away from where the tables were set up. He could hear the exclamations of excitement coming from everyone, especially the children, at seeing the magnificent creature in front of them. He smirked. This was probably the first time any of these idiots had ever even laid eyes on a dragon in their entire pathetic lives!

“Cheating, unfaithful scumbags! How dare you fool around at my wedding?” Dorothy barged in with a troop of people and barked, “Separate them! I want to see who in the world these brave people are!” She snickered in her heart. “You pretend to be so pure, elegant, out of reach, but that’s just it, a fake!” She would love to see how Phoebe the b*tch would defend herself now! Finally, that woman’s life was over! Just when Dorothy got close enough to the people on the couch to see their faces, she was stunned and stopped dead in her tracks.

I greeted her as I curtsied. Her name is Morticia Chase Whistleton, the Duchess of the Northern territory, the wife of the Grand Duke and the mother of Sir. Damian. “May you be guided by the Guardians of the North… Gale, who is she and why is she wearing my old clothes?” the Duchess asked.

Violet POV. I was in school, it was all normal until I and my friend went out to play, Izzy and I were playing we got new toys to play with today, Miss Laila gave us some chalk to draw on the floor, it was today's game. It was the best, I loved it, we made a big house, we draw cubes to jump in, it was so fun until my neck started itching, daddy dresses me in way too many layers, they made me itchy.

I asked. “The woman we met today isn't her grandmother,” Jeremiah continued. He didn't soften the blow. “She’s a neighbor. Kelly paid her five hundred dollars to put on a show. Her name is Dorothy. Apparently, she used to be a Broadway actress back in the day. That’s why she was so convincing.”

Dorothy pouted, feigning sadness. "I didn't really want to bother you. After all, we are starting college tomorrow, and i knew you would have a lot on your plates". "Do I ever look bothered when it comes to you?" Dorothy exaggerated, drawing all eyes to them. "Stop it, drama queen. Now you've got everyone's attention," Arianna said, quickly pulling Dorothy away from the curious stares. "By the way, who is she? Wait, don’t tell me! Ruby Santiago! My little idol!" Dorothy gushed excitedly. "What’s she doing with you?"

I was standing in my doorway, holding a contract that said I was his, and the man who’d been following me for two weeks was waiting for me to sign it. I didn’t say anything. I just stood there, the paper cold in my hands, and I thought about the woman in the documentary, the one who’d packed her bag and run. She’d been smart. She’d been fast. I was neither. I was just a girl with a dead father, a failing career, a sister who needed me, and forty‑two thousand dollars I would never have. I looked at the contract again. Doll. And I knew, in that moment, that I was going to sign it. ---

Ethan Sr. tucks the mysterious envelope into his jacket pocket, his expression carefully neutral. Few in the pack know that Dorothy's full name is Dorothy Rochelle Dares; she's always been just "Dorothy" or "Dot" to most. The Beta wonders what kind of correspondence would use her initials rather than her name, but he keeps this curiosity to himself. "I should get this to its rightful owner," he says, nodding respectfully to the Alpha before turning to Magnus. "And you look like you co

It was evident in her speech. "It's nice to meet you, Zita. I'm Rebecca but you can call me Becky." "I certainly can't, Duchess. The Duke will be furious with me if I address Her grace by her nickname." Zita said plainly, giving her reasons. Rebecca was about to speak with the door creaked open. The Duke stood there and looked at the two. Zita frighteningly had her eyes on the floor and avoided eye contact. Rebecca saw the look he wore-certainly a sign for her to avoid him-and she swallowed nervously.
