Even Dalton, who hovered by the door with his arms crossed, raised his brows and muttered under his breath, “Remind me never to cross you, Luna.”
“Too late for that,” I shot back, though the corner of my lips twitched.
The healer finally obeyed, pressing a small crystal to Xander’s forehead. It glowed faintly, and within seconds, Xander’s body jolted. He coughed violently, gasping as if he had been pulled from underwater, then his eyes snapped open wild, disoriented, and filled with fear.
“Where am I?” he rasped, voice hoarse. His eyes darted around, landing on me, then Dalton. “What… what happened?”
