I growled, already tired of the lecture, "what's next, a slow-moving death trap?"
Draco chuckled humorlessly and approached the shield, moving within centimetres of me. Martin's bullet and our tussle outside had clearly done a number on my foe. Draco's winter gear remained perfectly straight. In fact, the only flaw I could find with the man's appearance was the bloody hole in his shoulder. However, I could see a frightening mix of pain and anger in Draco's eyes, and it gave me a sense that he was close to coming unhinged.
Through some sheer force of determination, Draco moved as though he hadn't been shot only a few minutes ago, leaning towards me with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.
