Her eyes fly open, but she sees nothing, pupils blown wide with shock. The bond explodes between us like a star being born. I drop to my knees, unprepared for the sensory onslaught. Across from me, Rain does the same, a strangled sound escaping his throat. Dawn's consciousness floods into mine—fragments of her fear as she faced Sorin, her wonder at Rain's dragon form, her confusion and pain as the shadow magic drained her light. Beneath those immediate sensations run deeper currents—her determination, her loneliness, her hunger for belonging.

I let her know that a plan was in the mix and she already had a room picked out for Freya and her great-grandson, she was excited and couldn't wait. The meeting was long but we did get a plan ready and we had a break to get ready for the party unknown to Drax, my beta wanted to attend so he was my plus one. I haven't spoken to my mate since the incident where he almost died and I was beginning to worry. I missed him although I wasn't sure if to accept him. Would my pack members accept a bloodsucker as their Lune? All these questions and no definite answer but I know the more I put it off the more restless my wolf got and it was annoying me. Perhaps a feline of some sort, she may even be a wolf, I tell him. Not many wolves would dare do such a thing, however felines are often very sly creatures with no fear, or respect for that matter, he says, disgust evident in his voice. My dragon never believes wolves are the superior species, and I can't help but agree with him. I pull out a book from my shelf and sit down at my desk. It was fairly old, with leather bindings and worn out edges. I open it up and flip through the yellowing pages. It was a book on all the creatures discovered. I read through each type of shifter, their strengths and weaknesses, in the hope that whatever this female is, I will be able to easily break her.

"I bet we can find out what kind of creature your mate is in one of these books," Ryder says. Excitement bubbles inside me as I start scanning the titles. There are books about dragons, unicorns, and even books about creatures I've never even heard of before. I make my way down one of the aisles, running my fingers over the spines of the books until I come across one that catches my eye. It's called "Shapeshifters: A Comprehensive Guide."

She was starting to relax again, whether she realized it or not. “I understand. Let me start by telling you about shifters.” Rubbing his forehead, Marcus started what he knew would be a make-or-break conversation in their relationship. “When our beloved mother, the Moon Goddess, created shifters, she knew they would always be at odds with their animal side. In many ways, we are as human as anyone you would meet on the street, but we each have an animal side that we can communicate with. This gives us stronger senses, faster reflexes, greater strength, and a different perspective, but it also makes us act on our instincts more readily. The two parts create a single seamless whole.

The pain was a dull roar now, familiar and quick. My bones cracked and reshaped in seconds. I hit the ground on four paws, the silver wolf taking control.

Chapter 132 Nyx Alex reacted instantly while shifting mid-movement and throwing himself between me and the threat, and his own wolf emerged with protective fury that shook the walls and made the narrow bed crack beneath us. The attacking wolf snarled and lunged forward but I was already moving, already letting my dragon fire rise to meet the threat even as my body struggled to shift while still tangled in sheets and Alex's protective stance. "Stay behind me," Alex's wolf growled but I pushed past him because this wasn't just his fight and I wouldn't cower while danger threatened us both.

From what I have heard, they appear to regard it exceptionally. At the point when he at long last stops, I stop too over an especially thick book named Werewolves, Spiers, and Shifters: Complete Version.
