Duel Runners Novels & Stories

or maybe he was also confused as to why I had silver eyes, too? That was probably the case. "The next duel is between Alpha Kael from BlackFang and BlueMoon Pack!" The host announced. I turned to look at the Alphas, waiting for any of them who might want to face Alpha Kael. Alpha Raviel, who had closed his eyes for hours, finally opened his eyes and glanced at Severin. "Can you beat Alpha Drake?" He asked. His voice was deep and cold.

word – as in, 'Dueling' – on it. "Lei"? A duel? Chu Xun remembered the common tradition of engagement through battles he witnessed many times during his foray into the foreign dimension, although he never expected to see one here. "What are they doing?" asked Winsome Widow. "This is a dueling arena set up by the Sanctuary. Warriors fight up there; the winner will get a spiritual herb," explained Yu Cheng. "What about the losers?" "They get slapped with a small penalty – a community service, of sorts. They are to watch the gates leading out of the city and make sure no wild beast gets past. After one month, they'd be free."

my wolf worriedly asked when a bikini clad Jax and a mini skirt sporting Ryder, dropped their handkerchiefs while the rest of the sextuplet sisters howled to mark the start of the race. These clowns. Ufff. Alpha Zoe had said that the rules were- NO RULES!! I understood that but Bella did not start at all when we were already 2 members versus 3 of Kai's ! Any one of the participants reaching the finishing line first, was going to win the duel for their team. "Remember what I told you. Believe in yourself, baby. Think like you are riding a dragon,” Bella cooed through the mate link.

Now let the final duel begins." Osman voice came again and this time, it was meet with the melodious cry from the crowd. it was the finals and they had high expectations from the duel Swift and Venom stood opposite each other to contend in the final duel. "I guess I do not need to introduce myself to you. My introduction has been done by my previous challenge, let's make it quick and rot in hell together." venom said "I'm sorry I can't join you now, you will have to rot in hell without me. You've got company already." Swift said referring to Jade whose remains were still burning. " I have no intention of joining you, at least not yet."

He calls out loudly, the crowd erupts with cheers and my heart starts beating faster. Once the crowd calms down, Derrick speaks again. “As you already know, the last duel champion was Alpha Logan from the Ravencrest pack. So, in this duel, we’ll watch the remaining eight Alphas fight each other first until one emerges as a winner and earns the right to challenge Alpha Logan.” My hands grip the armrests of the chair as anxiety knots my stomach. The rules have changed and sound unfair—one has to defeat seven Alphas just to fight the strongest known one. It sounds too brutal and I fear Ethan might get seriously hurt if he tries to go for the main prize.

I pushed myself even faster, running as fast as I could. When I turned the corner, the scene before me made my blood run cold. There, standing with a gun pointed at Emily, was Reynolds, his face twisted in a malicious grin while Dylan lay on the ground, wincing in pain. "Reynolds! No!" I shouted, my voice a wild cry of anguish and fury. "Get away from them, you bastard!" Reynolds' eyes snapped towards me, his expression darkening. "Well, well, if it isn't the ex," he sneered, his finger tightening on the trigger. "How nice of you to finally join us.”

he said calmly, “and we have.” Alaric laughed from the arena floor, low and pleased. Chains hung loose around his wrists now, ceremonial rather than binding. He looked at me like I was a prize already engraved with his name. Veyne went on. “The duel will proceed under Trial of Dominion rules. Victory will be determined by death.” The crowd inhaled as one. I shot to my feet. “This was never agreed-” “Sit down or we will make you.” Halvorsen snapped.

“Let’s get this over with, then.” My gaze flicks to Gamma Everly. “We’re ready,” I tell her. She nods solemnly, coming to stand between the two of us. “A duel is a sacred thing,” Gamma Everly says. “You both understand the rules you’ve laid out prior?” “No weapons, no wolf,” we both say in unison. “Good,” Gamma Everly says. “And you’re both wearing the amount of protective gear you want?” “Yes,” Warrior Garett and I both reply.

A duel is between two people and a witness; nobody else is present. Savan turned to the sorcerer, looked at the sorcerer and slowly walked towards Laert. Two more riders appeared from the other side. They were lightly armored. “And you thought that this would be fair?” Laert mocked them. “So, much for that!” the sorcerer looked at them. Savan turned towards the riders. Their faces were like stone. They stood still. The sorcerer looked at the rest of the group. His face, too, had a stern look, even sterner than theirs. They averted their gazes. His gaze was too much for them. He won this round, his white teeth shinned. A smile danced on his face.

“Talking doesn’t seem to have helped much, does it? This time, Logan… this time, you’ll lose.” I clenched my jaw, feeling the familiar fire flare in my chest. “It is clear that you want a fight by all means, Rune” I stated, voice steady, “wht don't we do it the way we should have before. A duel. Whoever kills the other first wins. No innocents have to die and no unnecessary bloodshed.” Rune’s expression darkened. His eyes narrowed, sharp and calculating. “You think I’ll agree to that?” he asked, a venomous edge in his voice. “You think I’d give you the courtesy of choice?”
