Came the soft-spoken question from my lips and Dylan looked away with a heavy nod. “It was the toughest decision but at least she died with a smile on her face rather than all that pain. She died on her own terms you know?" He said, not long after letting out a chesty cough from his lips. As he faced the television, I soothed his back with my hands. I looked at him from the corner of my eye, and a lump formed in the back of my throat, one that was quick to slip down. I stood up after a while and walked to my room. Something in Dylan’s voice answered the question I had earlier.

She held up a photo of Lily holding infant Kai, taken just days before she died. My breath caught. I'd forgotten this photo existed. "She looks so happy," I whispered. "She was. Look at her face – she knew exactly what she was doing." "What do you mean?" "Mom, she knew she was going to die. She must have known. And she was still smiling because she could see what would come after." I looked closer at Lily's expression. Hope was right. There was something knowing in her smile, something peaceful despite what was coming. "Do you think she saw all of this? The foundation, the schools, the children we've helped?"

I smiled as I assure myself. He nods. "Does talking about it make you sad? How do you manage to smile through this?" I laughed briefly. "I'm not sad... and just because some of our wishes haven't come true, it doesn't mean we should shut out everyone and be grumpy. Our smile is a great essence in our lives" He nods thoughtfully. "So... did you feel sad when your dad died?" "No!" I answered quickly.... Ok, way too quick. Andre frown at the tone I answered him.

Thinking about it, Jake wanted to laugh. He can't get those expressions if he always did his research on the internet... well he did get them once from his father when he browsed his search history and read some worrisome phrases such as "can you die if you fall from the third floor" and "how long does it take to die after drinking toilet cleaner". The old man almost had a mental breakdown. "Oh, hi," Jake said, trying his best to look and sound polite without smiling. He was pretty sure that the fake smile would scare the poor girl away.

So he smiled at her as he parted and wondered at the same time if he looked like a dreamy moron. Shit that he had to die so young, thought a few particularly long-lived brain cells, but his still heart rejoiced with euphoria. His dying body shook one last time. With joy. Man what a kiss! Then it came to an end.

I swallowed, trying to lighten the heaviness building in my throat. “Besides,” I added, voice quieter, “I can’t have you dying in my arms. What do you think the headline would be?” His eyes narrowed slightly. I forced a weak smile. “Billionaire dies in the hands of his P.A.” For a second, there was silence. Then Dorian’s lips twitched. And he smiled. Not small. Not a smirk. A real smile. It was quick, like it escaped him before he could stop it, but it was there. And it changed his whole face.

Jameson stated with a smile. Diego lips slowly curled up to a dark smirk.

The alpha smirked. I looked at DeLorna and smiled. By now it was already turning to ashes as my body faded away. "Goodbye," I muttered. "And you. He'll be back for you," I smiled as my whole body turned to ashes drifting away with the wind. . . . ......

he repeated. “Well,” she said gaily, “since I’m going to die anyway, I might as well go out happy.” Her face fell as she thought for a moment and then continued, “Of course, unless you’re into necrophilia, you’ll only get one chance at me.
