**Elizabeth's POV** * I waited for Brandon's rant and scolding, but he did not do it. He just fished a few books out of the drawer, tossed them to me, and went back to sleep. I took several deep breaths before I picked up the books. They were not textbooks. They were obviously checked out from the library. Not everyone has the right to enter the library. Because many books in the library are confidential. And the three books Brandon gave me were World Geography, Warrior Combat Skills, and Medicine Encyclopedia.

Luxiana Sommeris Work had been exhausting, but I felt a quiet satisfaction at the end of the day. A steady stream of students and middle-aged readers had come to the library, eagerly searching for books to immerse themselves in. I’d always assumed that technology would take over even the simple joy of reading. Focus on them. “Do you want paperbacks, or should I organize an e-reader?” he asked. “What?” “I can give you an account for your books, or I can have an e-reader in your hands by the end of the day and you can order whatever the hell you like.” He kissed her neck, sucking on her pulse once again.

He released her and opened the doors, “I saved the best for last.” The doors opened and revealed the largest library Eddie had ever seen. The academy and the royal library paled in comparison. “This is our family’s private collection. The heads of the Claiborne’s have been collecting rare books to add to this library for generations. Every head, except for my father, made it a mission to add at least 1,000 books by the time they die.” Alex winked at Eddie, “I’ve already collected 2,000 new books.” “It’s amazing,” Eddie’s mouth hung open as she slowly made her way through the massive library. It had to take up an entire wing of the estate, “Who catalogs all this? Who has access to all this?”

E L L E How did I only just discover that there was literally a huge library room full of books in this mansion. It was like living in a dream, where all you have to do is ask for something, and it would be done. The library had all sorts of books. Novels, short stories, history, biographies, self-help books, poetry, and many more. It was truly heaven. Mikhail was out to get some of our luggages that weren’t complete from the airport. Eva pushed the large wooden doors open and walked inside. She set her walking stick down and took a deep breath.

Slowly, carefully, he lifted the book from its pedestal. “Got it," he whispered triumphantly. The eBook felt historical, its cover worn but still vibrant with problematic designs. He opened it to the first page, eyes scanning swiftly. The text changed into written in an antique dialect, but Michael had studied enough to apprehend the gist. This e book held secrets and techniques, powerful ones that might exchange the whole thing.

Her mind was still caught up in worries about the future, about the dangers that might be waiting for them out there. In the courtyard, their game continued. Evan tells her about life at the orphanage, about school, friends, and the little adventures he had in the city. Double checking some of the warrior laws for the kingdom.”
