I whisper more towards myself. The tattoo is of no ordinary design. The intricate details almost seem inhumanly made. Swirls of dusty-grey storm clouds surround a midnight-blue sword. They begin at the handles and spiral throughout the golden blade. Behind the sword lays black and blue tip wings. Each feather tip is like a tempestuous addiction. The closer I come, I want to touch it. Visions of the wings wrapping around me, never allowing me to escape, consume my thoughts. I look up at Raquel and shiver, not understanding how a tattoo could be so powerful.

He doesn’t respond but swiftly makes a beeline to his office, and I follow him like a lost pup, with no clue what the tattoo means or why it’s such a big deal. When I get to the study, he’s already in front of his computer, typing away with determination. “Shit, this can’t be,” he mutters in disbelief. “What? What can’t be? What’s wrong, Jack? Is the tattoo an issue?” I rush to stand behind him. “This tattoo... it’s popular in Blue Water Pack.” “What? Do you mean Blue Waters Pack?” “The rose on the snake it’s from Blue Waters. The majority of people with this specific tattoo are their spies.”

“I need the ink.” “What colors?” He asked. “Each pile gets a black. The second one gets three.” Alec did as I asked. “The fourth is a water color tattoo so I need one pink, purple, blue, green and yellow. This one is red and orange.” “Four tattoos today?” Alex asked. “Yeah, they are all big tattoos and not much pain tolerance.” “Mine is itching like crazy.” “Turn around and lift your shirt up.” I said rolling my eyes. Grabbing the numbing lotion, I put it on his back. He even keeled for me but I caught him looking at me in the mirror.

He whispered back. He smiled again, and my hand flew to my eye again. Thentos took one of the young elves' shields and held in front of my face. I could see the light blue, silver tattoo that started at the corner of my right eye and swirled down in a beautiful, intricate design. It looked like a vine crawling out of my eye down to my cheekbone and the other half over my eye towards the corner of my eyebrow. I removed the crown and placed it around my neck instead, like a choker.

Esmeray held her forearm up, examining the intricate tattoo that adorned her skin. The tattoo depicted a majestic wolf, its eyes fierce and determined, surrounded by swirling patterns that seemed to dance with a life of their own. The lines were bold and precise, giving the impression of strength and resilience. “This tattoo is so unique,” Esmeray remarked, tracing her fingers over the contours of the design. “I’ve always felt a connection to it, but I never knew why.”

The yellow eyed bird had its head pushed gently on the chest of the other. On another poster sat a stoic black cat in front of a smokey, whispy background. An Egyptian beaded collar and cartouch hung over its neck and shoulders. The words, 'I get easily distracted by cats and tattoos' split above and below the image. Elena snorted softly to herself. 'I bet she does get distracted by tattoos on a... NO! No. No, no, no, no. I'm not going down that route again.' She smirked, 'But gawd do I miss those lips and hands all over my body.'

I inwardly murmured to myself. Ethan had a tattoo on his back. Right across his shoulders were medium- sized horizontal wings. They looked a little Goth and almost Greco-Roman in their black inked starkness. I loved the quote underneath the wings. No more yielding but a dream. I saw it in the shower when he turned to get the soap.

Chloe lifts her shirt, slowly revealing her back to me. There, covering her entire back, is a watercolor tattoo of a black bird in mid-flight. Its body is curved in a “c” shape, its wings spread overhead. The background is filled with splashes of color: teal, green, and purple. And the words “Take these broken wings and learn to fly” are inked between the bird’s wings.

But for Alex, he automatically knew who it was as he immediately recognized his white hoodie that got splattered with paint in the colors of the rainbow. He scrolled up and as the caption, he simply had a blue heart emoji. "Blue."

The light scattering of hair on his lower abdomen disappeared into the towel and the only thing marring the beauty of his skin was the angry red mark on his chest, just a few inches away from his heart where he had been shot yesterday. Now that he was finally unclothed, I was able to see the tattoo on his left arm. It was a picture of a phoenix in flight and it was magnificent. The artist had focused on every tiny detail down to the red eye of the phoenix and somehow, it suited him. He was just as majestic as the bird.
