I can't just let him ignore my efforts of solving the dispute between us. I have an idea. I think this will work. I stopped my steps before reaching the elevator and looked back and I saw him in the same spot that I left him. Seeing the despair in his eyes is making me guilty. Ugh! No! I still have to follow my plan to get his interest and that is to be a 'hard-to-get' type of woman. Yeah. I know it's lame. But in this type of guy, wild women will be forgotten after getting laid. I turn my back and I know, I made the right thing.

Edwards jumped backward, escaping the splatter. “You’re gonna listen to the story about Daisy?” he ordered, with a bizarre grin pasted across his unshaved face. So, he started his quest to satisfy his uncontrollable desire.

Heather grew even more outraged when she heard this. “Jim Landry! It's no wonder you can't find the mother of your child, nor can you find your one true love! When it finally ended, she rose immediately, gathering her papers like they were shields, and stumbled out without waiting for any confrontation. But I had to see her, so I came up with a reason to. Standing by the door, I took a deep breath and knocked. “Come in,” her voice called from outside. She looked dashing in that navy-blue dress that hugged her skin, and her ponytail sat gracefully on her head. Not for one minute did she look swayed by my presence. “Elara,” She turn She loved to push just to see how far she could go before I broke, and it infuriated and excited me. She knew what she wanted and knew how to get it, unlike Elara, who could almost pass for a remote-controlled robot.

Her hand tightened around her handkerchief as she snapped, "What are you doing?" Just as I thought, if the mere mention of a single gown could rattle her this badly, their marriage wasn't as solid as she claimed. He had always wanted this, a bigger position in the company where he could exert power and control. Now, he had a chance and a lot could go wrong. I just hope my grandfather thought about that because I won't be a part of it when things go south.

"He's going to burn it, you know. Every building, every memory of this place will be gone in ashes." Edgar's heart clenched. "Stand down and cooperate," the leader continued. "You'll explain to the King personally what you were digging for." The soldiers moved closer, forming a loose circle around him. Edgar looked at their faces which were hard and merciless. Then he looked at the shovel in his hands, at the half-dug hole at the base of the statue. He hadn't found the answers yet. He couldn't let them stop him now. With a deep breath, Edgar closed his eyes.
