There was a bright smile on his face—so bright that I wondered if it was real or fake. Lilith was smiling as she wiped the tears that slid down her cheeks. “You are so beautiful,” she mouthed, blowing me a kiss. I didn’t realize when my smile broadened. She was so dramatic, and I absolutely loved her. Of course, I didn’t forget to look at Leon, Elder Silas, Elara, and Mia. Their jaws were tight, their faces crumpled in a mix of anger and sadness, their eyes shooting daggers at us.

Prince Gilan’s POV “I’m so glad that today is finally the day I’ll be discharged. I can’t even express how happy I am. Thank you, Gilan,” Elena says, her voice bright with excitement. The warm smile on her face radiated pure joy, it was as if her heart had finally been set free. “Yes, I’m happy too,” I reply, returning her smile. “Honestly, I’m tired of seeing you stuck here. So today is not just your day of freedom, it’s mine too. I’m relieved to see you well again.”

“LENA!” Lena appears in the doorway a second later looking half panicked. “What happened?” “Look!” She walks closer just in time to see Eli smile again when I make the ridiculous noise her eyes go wide. “That’s his first real smile.” “I know!” She presses a hand over her mouth. “Oh my God.” Jess walks in behind her carrying one of her kids. “What is happening?” “Eli just smiled!” Lena says. Jess gasps. “Already?” “Apparently my comedy career is taking off.”

She smiled. Not a happy smile. Not even a warm one. A tiny smile. Gone almost immediately. My stomach tightened. I replayed it. Once. Twice. Three times. The smile remained. Small. Subtle. But there. I stared at the screen. "What was that?" I muttered. The footage continued. Elara walked toward a section of the hallway near an unused storage room. She paused again. Looked around. Then disappeared briefly from the camera's view. Only for a few seconds.

Elena stood in the bedroom adjusting a pair of silver earrings while preparing for another gallery event. Soft music played quietly nearby while evening light spilled warmly across the room. Behind her, Adrian Laurent stepped out of the bathroom still fixing his watch. Then he stopped completely. Because Elena was smiling at herself in the mirror. Not critically. Not uncertainly. Just… smiling. God. The sight hit him harder than he expected. Elena noticed him watching through the reflection. “What?” Adrian stayed quiet for a second too long. Then finally: “You look happy.” A faint laugh escaped her.

His expression didn’t shift, but his tone carried the faintest suggestion of amusement. Elena decided to cut in, not about to let Sienna control the opening. “Then you need us to lighten your evening.” She let her fingers trace the rim of her glass in slow, deliberate circles. Finally, he smiled. But it wasn’t the flustered, eager smile she expected. It was small, knowing, the kind of smile that says you have no idea what you’ve just walked into. And for the first time in all their games, Elena felt a flicker of doubt.

It was thd first time, he saw her smile that brightly in front of him. "Why are you smiling?" Augustus curiously asked her. "Nothing," she simply replied. Augustus stepped closer to her, thus intimidated her. She lifted her head and asked him what he was doing. "I am checking what's the reason of your smile?" Augustus whispered and the hot breath hit her forehead. "It should not matter to you," Eliana pronounced. "It matters to me, Sweetie!" Augustus asserted.

"Yes, Mother, I understand completely. I won't disappoint you." ​"Splendid!" Elizabeth replied curtly. Then, her demeanor shifted drastically, her voice melting into an incredibly soft, affectionate purr as she addressed her daughter-in-law. "Elena, darling, do you like the itinerary I’ve arranged for you, sweetheart?" ​Elena offered a radiant, dazzling smile. She carefully positioned the phone camera so that her face and Liam's were framed side-by-side on the screen, painting the perfect picture of a blissful, harmonious pair of newlyweds.

I have never been this curious about someone else's conversation but…I wonder what her friend said that had her laughing so hard. This is the first time in three days that I have seen a genuine smile on her face. Even though I didn't want to say it out loud, she has one of the best smiles that I have come across. It isn't forced and I can tell that it comes from deep within. I can't help but smile too. I watch as Eliana's friend looks in my way then leans to whisper something in her ear and her head jerks in my direction. The smile on her face fades away subtly and it's replaced with irritation.

She turned slightly toward him. Charlie wasn’t looking at her. His attention remained on the photographer. Yet the comment had clearly been meant for her. “It’s only a photograph.” And Heat rushed into her cheeks instantly. Had she looked nervous? Of course she had. How embarrassing it was. “I’m not nervous,” she replied quietly. A faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. “Sure.” Elara immediately looked away again. The smile lingered in her thoughts much longer than it should have. She could just see his smiling face before her eyes.
