~ ELENA’S POV ~ “We’ve been followed,” My heart hammered in my chest as my hands gripped the child in my arm. He stirred in my arms, his soft whimpers blending with the rising tension in the room. Lisa’s claws extended, her body heating up as she started walking towards the door. The knock came again, causing my blood to run cold. How was someone able to track us through the tunnel? I thought Lisa said it was a secret. The second knock pushed the door in and it creaked open. I heaved a sigh of relief upon seeing who it was.

Elara stepped forward, her eyes narrowing as she looked at the dead flower. She didn't look scared. She didn't look like she wanted to hide. It was fortunate because the prototype gun had jammed. When it became too hot to touch, Elias threw it into the gaping hole in the ground. The burning orange core peeked through the casing and stood out like tiny star in the dark. Elias casted a final glare down the dark hole before he said, “Monitor and report later.” Then, he rushed back to Angie’s side. “The bleeding can’t go on.” Miryam immediately updated Elias before he needed to ask about Angie touching a blunt blade.

The shadows writhed. Valeborne screamed. A final blast surged from Elara’s body—directed not at Iris, but at the sky. A second moon began to rise. Crimson. Hollow. Scene 6: Shattered Light The blast threw everyone back. Selene lay unconscious. Lyra’s arm bled. Aiden shielded Iris from the brunt. But Elara was gone. Taken—or ascended. The altar crumbled. she said, raising her eyes at one point to look at Elena. Then Elena pointed to the thumbnail she'd watched a few hours ago. “This one. I saw this one tonight.” Julia looked at her, then clicked. Elena turned away, unable to watch it again. Julia’s eyes stayed fixed on the tablet, her lips pressed tight. Soon, she inhaled sharply, the sound cutting through the silence. “My God, Elena…” She froze the frame and looked up. “This is worse than anything I had imagined.” “Now, you see why I can't stay.”

She lifted something into the air with both hands. Brea sucked in a huge breath when she finally realized that Victoria held a baby high into the air, a bright blue blanket swathed the boy as he began to cry. The whole beautiful setting turned from a sparkling scene to a black ash color before her very eyes. Everything blurred and the once bright colors ran together, like a Rockwell painting gone wrong. She could hear a loud roaring, it sounded like that time when a tornado passed close to where she lived in town last year. Her body shook as her stomach heaved. This can’t be real! She leaned her head back and screamed, “NOOOO!”

Nolan roared. The next thing Nolan saw was Elva suddenly stretching her right hand toward him. Tiny screens of smoke emerged from Elva's hand and slipped into Nolan's nose. He choked up and started coughing immediately, falling to the floor. "W-what did y-you…" Veins popped out in his eyes and he fell flat on the floor, passing out immediately. "What did you do to him?" I asked Elva. "I made him breathe in silver gas," she said sternly, "let's get out of here."

She swiftly spinned around just in time to see the ball of energy attack her mother sneaked at her explode. Greta nodded with a satisfied look. "Good." "What do you mean good?—you just tried to kill my ass—again!!" Elsa stomped on the floor. Greta merely waved at her. "We can take a break now." Elsa didn't let her guard down this time, and just as she expected her mom sent her another sneak present. "Mom!!" Boom!!* *Boom!!* The two balls exploded one after the other. "Okay—okay—no more." Greta laughed. "I am tired, it's for real now."
