My door swung open and I turned to see Elsa walk into the room with a guarded smile. She closed the door behind her and started jumping around the room. A wide smile replaced the previous one. "Tonight was magical. So magical. Don't be surprised when you see me flying." She squealed her way to my bed. I smiled as she tossed her shoes at the foot of the bed before climbing on fully.

she mumbled. I narrowed my eyes. “Clean your mouth and eat like a normal being, not like some starving beast.” I reached for the second tray, the one that reminded me of which would be mine now. Elsa just laughed, her voice light and careless. “You know we’re always hungry.” She swallowed, wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, and sauntered closer. “But you can’t even finish a slice of watermelon.” She paused to grin at me. “I’m here to help you… So let me help you.”

Silas smiled faintly. “I thought we’d start with his.” Elias looked down. The dirt was already broken. He pulled the shovel off his back. And started to dig. It took forty-five minutes. The frozen ground fought back. Rocks. Roots. Time. Neither of them spoke. Just the sound of breath and steel against earth. Until the shovel hit something hard. Elias knelt. Brushed away the dirt. Then froze. There it was. His face. Or something close to it.

"This is not simple frost. This is witchcraft." "How would you know?" Lukas muttered from the floor, still rubbing his throat after what had happened earlier. "Because I read, Lukas, not just growl," I shot back without looking at him. "There was a record in my mother’s library about the northern clans, Rowan. The curse called Frozen Breath. If you use fire against it, you only speed it up. The flesh will crack from the heat." I knelt beside the sentry. My hands trembled, but I took a deep breath.

“Right on time.” Max didn’t move closer. “Why are you here, coach?” Elias didn’t answer immediately. He reached back into the car and pulled out a duffel bag, tossing it lightly toward Max. Max caught it out of instinct. It was heavier than it should’ve been. “What’s in it?” Elias’s smile widened just a fraction. “A part payment.” Silence dropped. Max’s eyes remained on Elias’s smiling face. His fingers tightened around the strap. “After the match tomorrow,” Elias continued smoothly, “you get the balance, and your contract signed.” He took a step closer, voice lowering. “You made a good choice, Max.”

She tried to grip the reins, but her fingers were numb with cold. The journey and the cold had worn Ayla out. Despite the warm cloak covering her, she felt as though the endless cold had made its home in her bones. She doubted she would ever feel warm again. She shivered so badly that her entire body started hurting. “Grab the rein!” Milton instructed her. Ayla tried to do as Milton asked, but her hands wouldn’t listen to her. “I can’t grab it. My fingers are numb with cold,” Ayla said as another ice wolf howled.

With that said, he angrily slammed the door and left. Elaine was about to say something else, but Winnie calmly said, "Mom, I'm tired. Can you let me rest for a while?" Elaine left, looking back every few steps. However, there was a thud just as she stepped out the door. Then, someone yelled, "Someone jumped!" Elaine rushed back to the ward, her steps unsteady. She saw Winnie's bed empty and rushed to the window to peek outside, only to see Winnie lying quietly on the cold ground...

Freya Rose Elsa dramatically waved her hand in front of my face, trying to get my attention. She then shouted, “Earth to Freya. Come in Freya.” I blinked a few times, so that I could focus on Elsa, and replied, “Sorry Elsa. What's up?” I tried my best to shake the fuzzy feeling from my head, and snap out of the daze that I was in. “Wait. Didn't I just see you in the parking lot a few minutes ago?”

"Ean, don't leave, please!" She clung to Ean, but he slowly pried her hands off his arm, his tone hardening. "If you're really scared, I'll have the doctor give you something to help you sleep. You won't be scared anymore." Helen stared at him, her disbelief evident. I could not help but laugh bitterly. So, he was refusing her now? Why couldn't he refuse her back then? Ean stormed off, and I followed him. His assistant rushed over, breathless. "Mr. Smith, the surveillance footage shows someone sneaking into the freezer that night. They were heavily disguised, and we're investigating it!"

Isabela trailed behind, grumbling for the tenth time about how her feet were freezing. "Are we going to walk much farther?" she complained, crossing her arms as she stomped her feet on the frozen ground. "My toes are numb. I'm pretty sure one of them fell off. Maxim, can you come back here and warm me up a little?" Maxim let out a quiet sigh. The air shifted as we crossed the edge of the forest.
