Josh gave a sling smirk as Jessica now stood in front of them and he could see how furious she was. She had just seen Elena slap her fiancé after all. “Ellie, what was that? How could you even slap him?” She asked angrily and Elena rolled her eyes. She really wished she could tell Jessica the truth about Josh but then remembering the things that had happened in the past, she couldn’t. She hissed and made to leave when Josh dragged her back and she gritted her teeth in anger.

Not so long after, I noticed a group of six men walking towards us led by a lively looking man in his sixties. “Oh not these sons of bitches”, Josh growled as soon as he caught sight of them. “Hey Josh old Boy”, I heard before I could ask him who they were. “Hello Carlton”, Josh said very dryly,Martin and Maxwell. They rest of these sons of bitches I don't know who they're supposed to be Santa Clause elfs or what? “Oh Josh”, replied Martin. A bald man with a stomach so large it looked as though he was six months pregnant. “You're the one with jokes right?” He added.

“You two better not leave puddles everywhere when you dry off.” Eben salutes dramatically. “Aye-aye, Captain Mom!” Gavin mutters something else under his breath that sounds suspiciously like, “Chaos captain.” As Mrs. Miller shakes her head and steps aside, Josh leans against the doorframe, water dripping from his hair, a grin spreading across his face. “Man, I swear,” he says, chuckling, “you two are ridiculous. Gavin, you let Eben drag you in like that and didn’t even fight back properly. Classic.”

“JOSH?” Astrid stood up when she saw Josh coming over. He was glaring at her as if he wanted to eat her alive. But she didn’t care about it because her attention was on someone else - Ellen, who was holding Josh’s hand. She looked as if she had seen a ghost. “What are you doing here?” Josh asked softly. He was wearing the red sweatshirt with the logo of his favorite basketball team, which was her gift on his last birthday. She knew she had to say something but nothing came out from her mouth. But truly, it’s a pleasure to see you here.” Josh positioned himself beside Ivy, his hand resting against the small of her back—a gesture of both protection and claim. “And I always enjoy watching you attempt something… unpredictable.”

I glare back at her in my head, while she keeps on teasing me about how bad I did the BTS moves of Boy with Luv. Eliz and I have a good connection and we hardly disagree with one another but we only tend to annoy each other by teasing. "Elle," that was Aberdeen calling me. I just want to see you happy at the altar.” “And I will be,” I said, reaching to squeeze his shoulder. “But there’s so much still—the invites, the cake, the groomsmen’s outfits. And I want your friends there, Josh. Tell me more about them, go on.” He chuckled, turning onto a busy Chicago street. “Alright. Elliot’s the calm one, British, married to Venus, always had my back in the worst times. Jason’s Spencer’s kid, my business partner’s son, he’s younger, kind of a mess, but got a huge heart.

“Hey, you got to be kidding me right?" Josh asked with his eyes wide open. I shook my head and placed my hands on the table. We were currently at Eli's where I had earlier asked him to meet me. Maybe he could help me out in some areas, I don't really trust Amad. “Here's your order.” Eli beamed placing down each what we both requested. I flashed him a smile “Thank you.” “Don't sweat it pretty.” he patted Josh on his shoulders and slithered back to his work.

*ELORA* Josh, Belle, and I sat at a table, waiting for our orders to arrive. As usual, Josh and Belle were busy teasing each other, while I just sat there, quietly replaying how unbelievably eventful my day had been. Josh had dropped me off earlier and waited at the porch until I walked into the house, like he was scared that if he drove off too soon, I’d run straight back to the hospital. I found that funny. Because really… what happened to the possibility of running back after he left?
