Lena's POV. “Hello, ma'am,” the doctor waved his left hand, and felt my pulse with his right hand. “How many fingers am I holding up?” “Can I get a name? Can you speak?” He continued, not even giving me a chance to think or respond. He suddenly stopped and pointed a little fluorescent light in my eyes. I squinted and groaned inaudibly from lying stiff for far too long. “Four, My name is Lena, and I think I can… talk,” I replied in a second, gulping as the man behind him moved closer and fixed his gaze on me.

Building the foundation of something that felt genuinely sustainable. The leather of the couch was cool against my back, but everything else in the room was burning. Eli was a heavy, solid weight pressing me down into the cushions, his hands framing my face like I was the only thing in the world that mattered. I could feel the ragged rhythm of his breathing against my neck, a hot, steady pulse that matched the frantic drumming in my own chest. "You have no idea," he rasped, his voice vibrating deep in his throat. He pulled back just enough to look me in the eye, and the intensity there was staggering—a mix of raw hunger and something so fiercely protective it made my breath hitch.

POV EMMA BELLE The Vesper groaned as it hovered over the precipice of the Well. Below us, a column of white-violet energy roared upward, a fountain of unrefined Aether that served as the planet's nervous system. Aethelred stood on a platform of translucent glass that floated within the gale of light. His scythe was not made of metal; it was carved from a single shard of Aether-Glass, vibrating with a frequency that threatened to turn our ship into a cloud of atoms.

the old woman explains as she approaches me. "Estela, dear, when the moon begins to lose its light, you will recite this during its shadow, and when the darkness fades, so will your human side. A beast will take its place and live within you… forever," the old woman drags her words, raising her voice at the end with a sinister tone. A dense darkness takes over the forest. Sam’s face fades, the firelight dims, and when it finally dies, I read the paper the old woman gave me.

--- They met in the training field. Selene stood at the edge like she owned it—tall, striking, with skin like sun-warmed bronze and long obsidian hair that whipped behind her like a weapon. Her wolf eyes glowed pale blue. She was Luna’s mirror in every way—only colder. Sharper. Crueler. Luna stepped forward slowly. “Selene…” “You still flinch when you say my name,” Selene said with a smirk. “How nostalgic.” Kael’s presence loomed beside Luna. “You’re not welcome here unless you state your purpose.”

Everything tasted so bland now. ------------------------------------------- I sat on the ground, my fingers digging into the warm dirt. I had planted peonies this year, they were hard work but still kept me busy. They’ll die and then I will find another flower to take their place. My head tilted as I heard the roar of a vehicle. I looked over the driveway to my house, seeing the black Cadillac pulling up. “So early?” I pressed my lips together, seeing our driver exit his side and make way to the front of the door.

A decorative brass robe hook, in the shape of an elephant, with its trunk in the air, fastened to the wall right next to where Duke lay flat on his back. Baby elephant. I ran over, pulled on the elephant’s trunk, and the wall back panel next to it immediately slid open, triggering lights, which illuminated a state-of-the-art safe room. Inside, there were four bunk beds and shelves stocked with food, water, and supplies. There was also a gun cabinet, and a wall of closed-circuit TV monitors, which displayed live feeds from cameras all around the property. Thump, thump, thump! The creep was at the bedroom door. “Cricket are you in there?” he called out. “You in

The glass was fogged with condensation, but Aurora could see the shapes ,small, fetal, but it looked wrong to her. Lila whistled, the sound sharp and brittle. “oh geez this is the vault your mom sealed after the ’04 leak.”she.Aurora walked forward, with her boots making a tapping sound as she walked on the metal bar floor. At the center of the chamber stood a single cradle; it wasn't for a baby, but for a brain. A human brain preserved in nutrient gel, joined together with gold filaments that pulsed like veins. It was larger than it should be, swollen with memory and code. It beats slowly but it was alive right above it a surface bloomed, casting blue light across Aurora’s face.ELYSIUM v.9.,E

POV Eleanor The doctor gave me bad news about my vision. I swallowed hard, and for a moment, I panicked. King Alpha was discussing with his Beta a strategy to find the antidote to this poison. The problem was that the antidote was contained in the stem of the plant. The blue Lebanese lily releases a powder made of silver sulfate; it is an aquatic plant, and underneath it, there is a substance in the stem that neutralizes the poison. I took a deep breath and felt someone approaching again. This plant was extinct, and Alpha Gideon was frustrated because he didn't know where to start looking.
