Emily sighed and plummeted her head back down on the pillow, “I just can’t understand…” “Can’t understand what?” Lucius sat on the chair beside her bed. Tears threatened to well up. She covered her eyes with her forearm and she sniffed, “I was dead… I was dead.” “Emily. I want you to tell me what happened. Where it all started why you ended up sent here.” She raised her head up and peeked at Lucius. Should she tell him? Maybe he’d answer her question. She was dead or so that’s what she thought she was. Since she met Grim maybe she really was dead.

Emma would need to recover fully, both physically and mentally. After a week, Emma was discharged. Morris had her back at his place. She did nothing as all her needs were attended to. Morris bought expensive things for her, flowers, and made sure she laughed all the time. Even on occasions he had to leave for work, which Emma didn't take much interest in, he sent messages to check on her. Her departmental people visited too, with Allen informing her that she was on sick leave. She was also informed that numerous officers had died that night. She was broken. Allen also informed Emma that Jim had been found slaughtered in his mansion with his guards. There was no evidence as to who did it, as

Jason's expression also became heavy, and there was a moment of silence before he said, "That is something we find hard to investigate as well. Dr. Wilson is dead, and Emily underwent surgery a year ago." He had been outside the operating room back then, watching Sarah being wheeled out after the surgery. The doctor had told him that the surgery was successful, and he wanted to see Emily again. However, the doctor at the time informed him that Emily had specifically asked not to see him before the surgery. Then, he watched as Emily was covered with a white sheet and wheeled away by the doctors. Wait... his eyes suddenly lit up. "Could it be that she didn't die?" Jason shook his head. "If Emi

Amy raises a trembling hand to her mouth in a silent gasp, knowing Emily did not come to rescue her, then asks a question which sends the latter into a rage, “What happened to you?” Emily swallows her rage and stares straight at her with a steely gaze, then smiles. “Antonio happened to me,” she answers, the other girl looking at her questioningly. “What do you mean by that, Emily? Soon, she lost her eyesight, becoming more uneasy and sensitive to her surroundings. Aunt Yvonne and I were terrified for her, yet we couldn't do anything. The day Sophie died, Aunt Yvonne committed suicide by jumping from the 40th floor of a building. She told me that Sophie would be scared in the underworld. She wanted to accompany her in death. I was calm when I arranged their funerals. When Suzanne found out about Sophie's death, she laughed at me. She said that Sophie was destined to die, and her family wouldn't live long.

"Grace, when Emily died with her baby... Was it your doing?" Grace let out a bitter laugh. "Do you really think I had the power to pull that off? Vincent practically drove Sophia and me into a corner. Sophia was forced to work as a hostess and almost died at the hands of some psycho. Now, she’s just a janitor. We’re just trying to survive. Do you think we could still mess with Emily?" It was true, and Mandy agreed. "But her death was so strange, don’t you think? Sure, it was a fire, but she died in the hospital, and with her baby. The more I think about it, the more it doesn’t add up."

Her voice was almost a whisper. "If you’re alive… does that mean Jason is, too?" Ah. So that was her real reason for coming. I tilted my head, watching the way her hands clenched at her sides, how her heartbeat stuttered. I held her gaze for a long moment before answering, my voice quiet but firm. "He’s dead." Emily staggered. Her entire body shook, her knees almost buckling beneath her. David caught her arm before she collapsed, his expression unreadable. Her breathing turned ragged as he guided her out the door, shutting it behind them with a quiet click.

, Emily sniffed hard and gestured for him to go. “The Emily you knew, died today, right at this moment”, Emily added with a strong conviction that made Richard shudder. “I’m truly sorry”, Richard apologized again and finally dashed out of the room.

The staff quickly retrieved it. When the footage played halfway, Emily's figure appeared at the door of Eleanor's ward. She swaggered into the room, staying for about half an hour before hurriedly leaving. Afterward, Eleanor's condition worsened, and doctors and nurses rushed in for emergency treatment, but they couldn't save her life. Isabella sat in silence in front of the monitor, gripping her hands tightly. If her mother's death had nothing to do with Emily, she wouldn't believe it. "Samuel, can we be sure that my mom wasn't murdered?"

Emily hurriedly left, and the assistant cooed to the child in her arms, only to raise her head in belated realization. How did Emily know that Deirdre was dead? - When Emily arrived at the hospital morgue, Brendan stood before a corpse. As Emily took a step closer, she noticed that the white cloth covering the body had already been lifted, revealing Deirdre's pale, purplish face. A smile curled at the corner of Emily's lips. Deirdre's death was truly a blessing. Emily composed herself, feigning sadness. "Brendan, the accident was unexpected, but now that Ms. McKinnon has passed away, we must stay strong. Let's go upstairs. This place is too cold for you."
