**CHAPTER 2** It was never wrong when they said there's no place like home. Natasha finally returned home,and arising from her bed feeling so jiggy in the wee hours of the morning. Her bedroom was quite an extravagant space designed to reflect her luxurious lifestyle and personal tastes. The color scheme leans towards girly and elegant tones. The walls is adorned with textured wallpaper, featuring delicate patterns and floral motifs, adding a touch of sophistication.

I immediately began searching for the Book of Shadows, knowing it contained all the information I needed and that at this point, it was the only thing that could save me. The lavish tables, the intricate decorations, the assembled guests–it was almost overwhelming. No wonder Mr. Caleb had sent her the dress, jewelry, and shoes. He was intent on avoiding any sort of embarrassment on his part at this luxurious event. She was now immensely thankful that she had asked Amelia's aid in getting ready tonight; otherwise, she would have felt conspicuously out of place–though, in truth, she already did. This was a whole new world that felt so odd, she felt no sense of belonging.

Elixirs. It felt strange how easily I fell into it, how natural it seemed to read about something that should have felt foreign to me. My mind followed each description, each use, each preparation, like it was remembering something I didn’t consciously know. The more I read, the more the outside world faded, until there was nothing but the pages in front of me and the quiet rhythm of my breathing. At some point, without even realizing it, my eyes grew heavier. The book slipped slightly in my hand. And everything went dark.

There was only the sudden, heavy realization that the body was a vessel, and the vessel was leaking. Purity: A blade required no battery, no signal, and no permit. I was really astonished because of how beautiful the room looked. There were lots of books of different genres.

Ice asks. “A witch I met in New Orleans,” Bo replies with a smile. Seems like more than a friend to me. “She’ll meet you at the airport when you land in Portland. From there, it’s about a six and a half hour drive to Crescent Shadow territory.” I nod my head. Ice sees my face and turns to them. “Can we go now?” She asks. “Of course,” Gray nods his head. “Get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a long day, you’ll need your rest.”
