Eternal. The word eternal can be defined as an everlasting or universal spirit representing the Moon Goddess lasting or existing forever. Let that sink in. I wasn't always an Eternal Wolf. Before I was ever an Eternal Wolf, I was the Alpha Queen. Becoming the Alpha Queen wasn't easy by any stretch of the word, but being the Alpha Queen shaped me into the she-wolf I have become. I didn't know it then, but I was destined for greatness. The Moon Goddess made sure of that. Saving my people, and really the earth realm from absolute destruction wasn't something I was thinking about when I was a young wolf. Little did I know.

Because I wouldn't be. "You'll leave me," He breathed. "You'll leave me." A silent tear dropped down his eye. How could someone love anyone this much that a thought of even leaving scared both of us? "Don't care about me." I touched our foreheads, trying to keep the tears at bay but they fell one after another at the hurting face of his. "How could I not?" My hands slipped around his neck. "How could you even think I will leave you?" His eyes widened slightly. "I don't do marriage for divorce. If I marry you, I'm staying forever. We are staying forever."

* Infinity says with a purr. Eternity growls back at her, *When I can finally shift, you’ll pay for that dick comment, my little minx.* *What? I’m saying I BET it is. I have no knowledge of his dick size, but yours is definitely better.* She’s trying to get out of her punishment, but it won’t work. Eternity is gonna pound that ass as soon as he’s able. *Promises, promises.* Fin singsongs as Maddie runs her nose down mine then whispers in my ear, “The peanut gallery needs to behave.”

"Well you have to sooner or later" He mumbled too loudly, and she heard him. She looked at him in confusion.

“You cannot wake one day and decide you want humanity again. You will be like me. Like my mother. Always. Immortal. Are you sure you want this existence, always waking beside me, always bound to me, forever? What if eternity wearies you? What if one day you long to move on, to taste another life, and regret this choice?” I shook my head, fierce with conviction. “Waking beside you forever is all I long for. To have children, to watch them grow, to reinvent ourselves and our love over and over across centuries, Adrian, that is my dream. What I cannot bear is the thought of goodbye. I want forever with you. Only you.”

She laughed nodding her head. “That happens when you are living for an eternity.” “It’s beyond my imagination, mother. Like on earth, I know people are born. They go to school, they go to college, get a job, get married, give birth to the next generation, then groom their kids, then take retirement when older and then eventually die. But what is eternity like? What do you do when you are supposed to live forever? When you’ve watched every TV show, every N*****x serial and every movie that’s been ever made. When you’ve listened to all the songs and the singers from all around the globe? Doesn’t it get boring?” He asked her, going too deep in his mind.

We lit the fireplace and left our wet clothes near the door. The intimacy was slow again. Full of questions and answers. We did not need words for everything, but we never used the bond as a substitute for consent. Later, Elaine rested against my chest. “What does eternal love mean to someone who can feel the Veil?” she asked. “An exaggerated phrase.” She lifted her head. “Romantic.” “Let me finish,” I said, stroking her back. “I can’t promise you an eternity I don’t control. We’ve already died once. We know even gods don’t know every outcome.”
