By then, his mind had completely broken. Despair swallowed him whole.
The nurses and guards lifted him out of the venue, the stench of medication and decaying flesh trailing behind. Everyone who passed turned their faces away.
Night fell, thick and heavy. Later that evening, my back ached so much that I could barely move. I let out a soft whine.
