Monday morning arrived with the specific quality of a morning that meant business. Not harsh, not the grey unforgiving kind that made getting out of bed feel like an argument you were already losing. Just clear and direct and October-cold through the window glass when Jayda pressed her palm flat against it for a second before going to make coffee, a habit she had developed without noticing it, the daily confirmation that the outside world was still there and still doing its thing regardless of what was happening in her immediate circumstances.

I get up every morning and I never thought my day is going to be a great day, I never know when it was going to be over but today I refuse to have a bad day. My today goal is to spend all the time with the people around me, the ones I love, the ones that I care about, and the ones who always be by my side. You know… when we have each other, we have everything. My family loves me so much… and now I have Lena as the love of my life. I start my day by seeing Lena’s smile… the smile that came out of her face reminded me of the sunshine that shore the world every time we wake up in the morning.

*** The same routine every day; come to work and continue with my life until it doesn't make sense anymore. Maybe I am exaggerating when I say that it won't make sense until I have enough money to open a business where I can be my own boss. That's every woman's dream who wants to be independent in every way. Entering the mall, I greet the security guard, "Good morning," and he kindly responds and wishes me a better day than yesterday. I really liked that because there are people who wish you well even if they're not your family.

The rest of the week settles into something I haven’t experienced in a long time. Routine. Not survival. Not chaos. Just… routine. Every morning starts roughly the same way. Coffee. Breakfast. Greg leaving for training. Me heading into the office. A quick kiss goodbye. Then both of us disappear into completely different worlds until the evening. It feels oddly grown up. And honestly? I like it.
