I can't believe this is happening on the start of my mini vacation. After a few minutes of feeling sorry for myself I grab my phone to call a tow truck and realize it is completely dead. Crap, I forgot to charge it at work today. I get out of the car and walk over to the hood. I see that it is still a little smoky, so I lift the hood with a towel I had in my back seat. I have no idea what I am looking for but maybe seeing a woman on the side of the road with her head in her hood will indicate a man to stop and offer some help. Wait, isn't that how most horror movies start?

Suddenly, Adrian realized that these individuals indeed harbored ulterior motives. Adrian expanded his awareness, and the sight before him left him speechless. The entire hall was now teeming with an array of ghosts and monsters. Among them were towering old men with only one eye, lanterns swaying on a single leg, malformed boys with just one limb each, women clad in white exuding a bone-chilling aura, and skeletal figures draped in human skin...

She screamed as a pair of rotting hands yanked her from the back of the truck. Vincent scrabbled backward across the metal truck bed, away from the gruesome monster that had grabbed his girlfriend. The thing’s face was a mass of sores and scabs, and its eyes bulged unnaturally out of an emaciated skull. I’d heard there were places where you could rent the tapes for a lot less than what they cost to buy, but it hadn’t changed my mind. I started towards the doorway with the curtain but stopped short by the tapes next to it. This section was at least twice the size of all the others. The covers of these boxes were all screams and knives. Bloody chainsaws and heaving breasts. The sign resting here was carefully drawn in black gothic type letters, each dripping red: “Horror.” Hanging by a piece of tape off every other shelf were letter-sized flyers exactly like the ones that man was putting on windshields out at the Farm and Fleet. I peeled one off to get a closer look.

There was no one but darkness outside. "Who's that?" "Corrine?" "Elise?" Eiden guessed. He thought that it was his sisters being ignorant. Eiden approached the door and looked outside. There was no one and it looked deserted. Maybe everyone was fast asleep and didn't realize the power was off. Eiden closed the door and as he turned around, that was exactly when he saw the demonic figure. His eyes were fiery red with his entire body covered in blood. His teeth were sharp and emitted a lot of foul odor with two black horns on his head. He grinned at Eiden.

It was a scream the kind that summons every sleeping soul, begging it to awaken and witness the nightmare with her. She stumbled backward, clutching the curtain as if to draw it shut and shield her from the horrific image. But it was too late. The scene was etched in her memory: Sid, a lifeless doll, hanging in death, his head bowed, his blood soaking the seat and cascading down the stone passage like a river of hell.

He shakes his head and blubbers, “I don’t know what you want me to say.” I grab him between the legs, seeing nothing but a slideshow of Lena’s torment on repeat. I could saw off my own fingers, and I’d hardly notice.They’re hurting her. Scaring her. Making her cry. The blade cuts through skin and muscle, eliciting a scream that horror movies can’t imitate. That sound can only be born from the type of horror very few humans actually experience. It sounds like music. Is it the same sound Lena is making? Blood spurts, painting Ra and me in crimson. He sucks in a deep breath, preparing to let loose another scream no one else will ever hear, but then he passes out.

Something ominous is coming. Sweats started to form on our foreheads. I caught others gulp with hints of extreme fear and horror painted on their faces. “World of Eternal Desire!” Asmodeus continued, making us all gasped for a deep breath.

She chuckled. "Nice idea! We'll watch a horror movie!" I said happily as I watched her eyes widen at the suggestion. "No! I want to watch The Vow!" She pouted. "How about Insidious? Or The Exorcism of Emily Rose?" I asked, ignoring her protests and skipping to the box to search for a good horror movie. "No!" She shouted behind me. "How about Poltergeist?" "No!" "Annabelle?" "No!" "The Grudge?" "No freaking way. I don't​ want to wet my pants. I watched it once and damn, I was so near to pissing myself. That creature, oh my God, that thing in that movie gives me nightmares."
