It was easy since I love reading, anyways. Right now, I’m reading ‘The Emperor’s Desire’(My Ma owns this book). She kept her books in their closet, but I discovered her secret stash about three months ago. People assumed that I’m a genius. A usual perception for people who loves reading. Well, I’d like to think so too, but my grades would beg to disagree. All of them were barely hanging on the passing mark or very slightly above it. I flipped another page eager to discover what happened next. Only to be welcomed by the Emperor declaring his love for his sister. I wasn’t able to hide my disgust and said, “Ugh! I’m about to vomit. It’s so disgusting!”

She’s glad that her grandma didn’t leave their side when they hopelessly went to her for help. Valeriana recalled that when she was only five years old her mom had told her that her (Valeriana) granny wasn’t that fond of her father. In Fact she used to dislike him very much. Grandma was against their marriage but Valeriana’s mother used to love Valeriana’s father very much so she ran away with him and married him. After that Valeriana’s grandma was really mad at her (Josephine) because of this. She even told her that she doesn’t even want to see Josephine’s face.

I wiped my eyes, all my problems suddenly forgotten as I started at this book. “Do not tell me that you are crying.” “I cannot help it.” I sniffed in. “I love books so much, they help me forget about all of the problems I face. If I was not going to be in trouble, I would have asked to stay in here and read as much as I can.” I spoke too much and too fast out of excitement. Tugging on my lips I sighed. “I have never seen someone so in love with books.” He chuckled while I looked at the hardcover book in my hands.

“I know what you mean. I had one too—it was a family outing for us, going to the library. My mom insisted my brother and I read books if we wanted to play video games. I was that nerdy kid who actually preferred reading to gaming. I guess it carried over into adulthood.” Fiona’s gaze focused on his face, and one side of her mouth smirked. “Nothing wrong with that.” Handing the book back to him, she continued to investigate the books lining the shelves. “Do you have a favorite in here or in one of the boxes?” Chris chuckled. “Well, having a degree in English Literature, you’d think so. But I love so many of them. I’m partial to the classics—Keats and Shelley, Lord Byron, Shakespeare…”
