Eye Glass Straw Novels & Stories

A strange, grey mist swirled inside the glass like a trapped storm. The rest of the room was a nightmare of strange objects. There were shelves packed with glass jars of dried plants and liquids that glowed in the low light. White candles stood everywhere, their wax dripping like tears. I saw decks of cards, old mirrors, and an Ouija board leaning against a pile of dusty books.

It hurt when she pressed down. “I need you to open your eyes. I need to see if there is any serious damage to your eyes.” She took a deep breath, and slowly opened her eyes. The light was still bright, but her eyes quickly adjusted. The doctor flashed the light into her eyes, she blinked. “Follow the light please, Ms. Hewsen.” He said moving the light from one side to the next/ She followed the light with her eyes, “Call me Jade.” She said closing her eyes. “My head hurts.”

“Why are you so persistent? Do I look bad with my glasses on?” “Bad? Oh, Len, I don't think anybody could look as beautiful as you with any style you have,” I say as I sit up and put a strand of her wavy hair behind her ear. “But I see how you struggle with glasses and eye contacts. You can't deny that.” I have seen how eye contacts make her eyes watery and the way she struggles with putting on any 3D glasses if she has her glasses on. She can make her life easier, but her fear is preventing her.

Out spilled what looked to be dozens of tiny cameras, mostly made up of glass lenses and a black, rounded back, making the entire structure appear like a little ball. They looked like eyes to Lila. “It would be better if we had an EMP to blow out all the electronics in this space, but this is the best that I have done so far. I’m going to comb this place again, in case that I’ve missed anything,” Jasper announced, looking down at the collection that he had amassed.

But as she leaned closer, her breath fogging the glass, her mother’s voice sliced through her thoughts. *"Do you realize how awful your eyes look? You should cover them up, or else people will be afraid of you and leave you alone."* Her hands trembled as she reached for the dark brown lenses. The cool plastic pressed against her fingertips as she carefully placed the first lens. She blinked, her lashes fluttering against the discomfort, and tilted her head to inspect the transformation. The vibrant purple was gone, replaced by a muted brown that felt dull but safe. Relief flickered briefly, only to be swallowed by a heavier weight.

“Let’s try again. Nurse, turn the overhead lights down. Beta, Luna, can you please take photos?” “Photos?” Ainsley looks confused. “Don’t worry. We’ll show you, Ains.” Dara reassures her. The nurse turns the lights off, and Dara shines her light into Ainsley’s eyes again. A bright beam of light refracts back into the dark room like a movie projector. It creates an intricate golden kaleidoscope pattern that illuminates the room with a soft glow. Eva grabs my hand as we look around in shock. The doctor lowers the light, making the pattern disappear, then shines it in the other eye, making the pattern reappear.

She braces herself and heads for the toilet. Thankfully, the place is empty so she gets into action. She takes out a small bottle of glycerine and puts a few drops in her eyes. “Ow!” She winces. The liquid slightly burns her eyes and she blinks back tears. How do people use this thing? She wonders painfully. “I forgot to mention that the glycerine might sting a little,” Ryder’s voice comes through the mic “A little?” She hisses. “This thing is torturing me!”

GLASS CYAN EYES watched slender fingers turn the leaves of a book; once. Twice. Thrice. The cool blue orbs ceased their study of the phalanges and moved on to the slim soft arch that denoted the wrist, down the forearm, arm, the sheathed curve of the shoulder girdle, neck and then the facial muscles of their owner.

As they disappeared into the alley’s darkness, the broken glass on the floor began to hum faintly—forming, slowly, into a new symbol. One Ayla hadn’t seen before. A symbol that looked like an eye, weeping ink.

the man I recognize as Blake says with a chuckle. I am startled. I guess I knew there were people in the room; however, I had forgot. Stupid mistake. I sighed and slowly open my eyes. I close them again quickly under the bright lights. From the look in the room, I can see it is evening. I blink a few times before I notice a glass with a straw in front of me. Blake is holding the straw to my lips to help me get some water into my dry throat.
