I begin walking forward, and Ezra, the wonderful man, matches his steps to mine. Since he’s a good seven inches taller than I am, it must feel like he’s barely walking. But he doesn’t complain, not like Elias used to. He used to call me slow and lazy when I couldn’t keep up with his long strides, even when I was running to keep up.
