"You really scared me!" I smacked his arm again , jokingly . He had a big grin across his face . His eyes light up when he laughs and his body becomes loose and is no longer tense . I think it was the alcohol that was making him happy but either way I was okay with it . As long as he had a smile on his face , that's all I cared about .

Smack! His palm came down on my ass again and again. "Are you going to behave?" He asked kneading my cheeks soothing the sting and I nodded, "Good girl." He patted my head and released me. He made me stand before him, cupping my cheeks with both hands and smiling down at me like he couldn't believe he was finally seeing me after days.

I scoff, “The nonchalance? The always smirking, and let’s not forget the dropping out of school.” “I am not nonchalant!” When I make a sound of disagreement, he groans in frustration. “I just don’t care about anything else outside you!” I try not to think about the fluttery feeling I get from those words. “The smirking?! Is it my fault that my smile looks like a smirk? When you’re born with this face!” he gestures wildly to the face. It’s so cute I end up laughing as we walk to the kitchen. That’s when I notice how much it fucking hurts, I hide it well since he isn’t looking at me at the moment. It’s like a fucking thunder bolt up there.

My hair stylists did a good job of making me near-deaf in one ear with the volume of hair they packed there, but I still heard Damon clearly through it. “Okay.” I agreed. “Smile.” Damon commanded, through opened teeth and a smiley face. I looked at Damon in shock. How do people pretend? I've always been one who's face mirrored their expressions. “Stop looking at me so dumbly.” Damon said. “Smile.” He instructed again, and like his puppet which I was growing to be, I flashed my most brilliant smile. As I involuntarily wore my face muscles out, trying to fake a smile that wasn't even as deep as my throat, I wondered if I could really sustain that kinda life.

I yelped, pulling my leg back. He glanced up, a flash of malicious amusement in his eyes. “Oh, I’m so sorry,” he drawled, his lips curving into a slow, mischievous smile that did nothing to soothe my nerves. “I just wanted you to deeply feel how it was to get slapped.” he smiked. “What!” “Yeah, my cheeks still hurt. Just look at my poor face,” he whined, dramatically turning his head.

She says pouting as she smiles, her brown eyes crinkling at me. “I do.”I say laughing as we move towards our room. “No you don’t.”She says huffing. “Yes I do, You’ve got that face.”I say grimacing. “What face?”She gasps looking appalled. “The gossip face.”I say and She looked offended. “I don’t have a gossip face.”She squeaks as I nod my head at her saying.”You absolutely have a gossip face.”Jasmine gasped as I pointed. “There. “That’s nearly impossible in this silly game. It’s all chance.” I was taken aback by his tone. Hadn’t he known I was only teasing? My face fell. “I - Sean, I didn’t mean that. I was just joking. You know, like gaming smack talk…” I responded, my voice getting smaller, pleading. His upset face suddenly changed 180 degrees and he smiled. “Yeah! Of course! I know that,” he said. The abrupt change threw me off. I was thrown. This was so out of character for him - he’s never snapped at me like that before.What was this obvious fake smile he was using now?

His familiar scent, his warmth, his stupid, annoying self. He laughed against my ear, his breath fanning against my skin. I turned in his arms, still completely stunned, and without thinking—I smacked his chest. “You absolute idiot!” I exclaimed, glaring up at him. Marco just grinned. Of course he would do something like this. Of course. “You should’ve seen your face,” he chuckled, his deep voice laced with amusement. “Confused, annoyed—exactly how I imagined it.” I smacked him again, making him laugh harder.

I said. That made her laugh. It was a beautiful laugh. It was not a laugh. The sound of her laugh made me happy. It made me feel good. I would do anything to hear her laugh again. I looked at her stomach. She caught me looking. "Don’t look at me like that " she said. I smiled. "What are you talking about?" I said. "You are smiling " she said. "I do smile " I said. "No you smirk " she said. "Smiling is different " she said.
