Faded Oaths
"She loved to draw—in the sand, on paper, anywhere. She'd sketch all these weird little houses with odd shapes, and every time she finished one, she'd draw a tiny circle in the bottom right corner.
"Something like a signature, a sweet little quirk of hers."
I stiffened slightly. That was a habit I had as well. It persisted even after I had amnesia.
That was the end of his story.
He lightly tapped on the table and reminded, "The coffee's gone cold."
I finally snapped out of my daze and quickly lifted my cup to take a sip of coffee. Then, I lowered my head and continued sketching. Still, curiosity gnawed at me.
