Fail Better Book Novels & Stories

A faint pang of regret lingered, why hadn't I done this sooner? I'd discarded my old SIM, bought a new one under a false name, and kept contact only with Bella. "Claire... you have no idea. Aaron's gone mad trying to find you," she said cautiously. "Some of his Capos got replaced for failing him... and Vivian? She's been sent abroad." "His temper's dangerous these days. Nobody dares slip up." I let a faint, almost imperceptible smile ghost across my face. "He's holding on to a love that exists only in his mind. The moment he sees it for what it really is, I'll no longer matter to him."

How could someone be so shameless to this extent?! I was so angry I couldn’t help but laugh. Stephen looked down at Harlan with disdain. "You? Forgive my mom? How dare you say such things? Is it because I’ve treated you well, and now you're getting cocky? "Stop daydreaming. I’d never get engaged to scheming people like you. Instead of making ridiculous remarks here, why don’t you go figure out how to save your failing company?"

"You can't even close a simple deal? If you couldn't do it, you should've just said so! How can you be this useless?" My smile stiffened. I didn't even get the chance to say, "Happy anniversary." There were so many nights I spent drinking with clients just to make sure Clement got every opportunity. I went too far tonight, and my stomach gave out, leaving me collapsed at their feet. Before I fainted, I saw the clients across from me give me a look full of mockery. The clients' and Clement's voices came through the line at once. "Relax, Queen Vivi. We've got that fool jumping through hoops!"

I say vaguely. “Ah,” he says, his green eyes understanding. “The worst kind. Mine think I’m a charming failure. Yours?” “Think I’m a disappointing success,” I say before I can stop myself. He laughs, a rich, wonderful sound. “I like that. A disappointing success. There’s a poem in that.”

Naturally, he had no energy left to deal with company affairs. Charles was already dissatisfied with his recent performance. Now, with Jayden constantly disappearing every few days, things finally boiled over when a subordinate reported a major failure in one of Jayden's projects. Charles lost it. "Jayden! Are you trying to hand this company over to someone else? If you can't even handle something this small, what else are you good for? You're useless!" During a high-level executive meeting, Charles slammed his hand on the table and laid it on Jayden.

Anna encouraged but her words only weakened me the more. Each word felt like a stab at my chest, I found it difficult to breath. My head throbbed with pain as I sobbed softly, not wanting Anna to hear me. But she did. “Georgia, this isn't the time to be weak. You have to be strong. So what if he betrayed you and cheated on you? It just shows how lowly he can be. Now it's time for you to fight back, show him you can live without him as well! You deserve better!”

I don't even know what I'm drawing. "Yeah, well maybe you don't know about it because you haven't read it yet!" I snap at him. Fucking know-it-all! He shrugs and doesn't say anything facing forward. I look down at my paper. As much as I just happen to love maths, note the sarcasm, I can't fail it. Failing it means, summer school. And, I + Mr Clark + Summer school = Total and utter destruction. See? I know how to solve some maths problems! I grin to myself. Looking down at my paper again, I frown and groan loudly.

he suddenly asked her. “My life is completed. Who said that a bad decision can change one’s life completely?” She hugged them both. “Who said that one day your will stop with your dumb ideas?” He joked and she hit his chest. “I didn’t even need alcohol to be dumb.” They both burst into laughter. “I accept your flaws, even your flawed resolutions.”
