Drew Wings. Fucking gold wings had just appeared out of my best friend’s back. And I didn’t mean small, delicate, wispy things. I’m talking giant, pure gold wings. They were still beautiful, don’t get me wrong. But they looked nothing like what I pictured when I imagined a fairy with wings. Because it was obvious that’s what she was. Not a witch. Never a witch. He whines and I laugh at him. I raffles his hair and hold his face in my palms. “So… how is handsome Denzel doing today?” “I’m fine! Here….” He reaches for a drawing book next to him on the bed and shows me a page where drew…. Ah! I don’t even know what he drew! But I guess it’s some cartoons. “… Look, Anna, I drew hulk and captain America!” “Oh… “ I take a closer look and frown, why doesn’t they look like the hulk and captain America I know?

Nicole. “Heidi…” my heart softened as I dropped to my knees beside her. “I’m gonna put them back, I promise. I just wanted mum to stay here for a while.” One of her drawings rested ont he table too, almost covered by mum’s scarf. I pulled it from under there. It wasn’t the best picture but I could tell it was two older women with a child in between them. One of the women’s hair was done with a yellow pencil while the other was black, the child had tiny dots around her head to imitate hair, but what they all had in common was the yellow circles hovering over their heads and the triangle wings.

Zayn pulled out a crumpled piece of paper, smoothing it out on the table. It was a drawing. Simple. Uneven lines. Bright colors. Three figures. Aira recognized it immediately. Zayn pointed at it proudly. “This is me. And that’s Mum. And… that’s you.” Lucien’s gaze fixed on the drawing. For a moment, he didn’t speak. His fingers moved slightly, as if he wanted to touch the paper but stopped himself. “And you made this?” he asked. Zayn nodded. “Yes.” Lucien’s expression didn’t change much.

It's mouth hung wide open showing a display of huge canines like razors ready to destroy. We all stared at the paper. I didn't get the point Faye was trying to make by showing me this. So... It's a picture of a red eyed demon, probably from an old fairy tail considering how old and rusty the book was. "Faye what does this have to do with anything? "Ming chimed. 'Oh thank God it didn't have to be me.'

“I’m sure she’ll remember this night for years to come.” “And come back again?” Lily asked hopefully. I pulled her into a hug, smiling into her curls. “Of course. But maybe… be a little gentler next time. Fairies don’t like being startled.” “Okay,” she said with a sweet, sleepy smile. Later, after breakfast and after cleaning up the remaining bits of fluff and yarn, I found a drawing Lily had made: a stick figure fairy with sparkly wings and a big smile. It was labeled: “Tooth Fairy (caught!!!)”

She starts looking through more boxes. "Laura shouldn't we get out of here. You should rest. We can come back and go through this tomorrow," I say to her. She digs through a few more boxes. She pulls out a folder. "One thing about us Fairies, we keep great records," she says. She adds the folder to her collection of papers. "Are you ready now?" I ask her. As we go out the door of the hidden record room, I notice something strange on the wall. "Ando can you reach that picture?" I ask him.

If I had just have accepted the king mom would still be here. “He drew this…” Richard drew my attention to him, as he held a piece of paper out for me to see, a crayon drawing rested on it. It was quite good actually. “He’s a little artist in the making.” On the paper was a drawing of a a girl with dark hair, she had been given muscles, and her hair was tied in a ponytail that sat right at the top of her head, much like a unicorn horn which made me chuckle with tears still flowing. Is that really how Freddie viewed me? He saw me as this amazing, powerful superhero?

“Yes, Aunt Fiona, and of course me, oh, and Uncle Carlos.” “I see, you did good, baby.” I looked at her drawings; of course they were children's drawings, so good enough for her age, especially when she got the important parts—that fingers are supposed to be ten, five on each hand, two eyes, ears, and one nose. “I can’t believe you got Aunt Fiona’s freckles.” “Oh yes, she looks just like her, right, Mommy?” “Right, you did good, baby. I'm sure your teacher will give you a sticker.”

He accepted things so easily, with the quiet understanding that came naturally to children. Juliette, however, wasn’t quite ready to let him go back to colouring just yet. "What are you drawing, Cade?" she asked, leaning closer to get a look at his creation. Cade glanced up at her, then down at the colourful, abstract shapes he had been scribbling onto the paper. "A dragon," he said matter-of-factly, though the image looked more like a tangled rainbow. "But he’s invisible, so you can’t see him yet."
