Ian's warriors tried to block our path, but I cut through them without slowing. Behind us, I heard a sound that made my heart stop. The shifting of bones. The tearing of clothes. A wolf's growl. I looked back just in time to see Lyra complete her transformation. Her white wolf stood where she'd been moments before, magnificent and deadly. Lumina. Ian shifted as well, his brown wolf emerging with a snarl. He was larger than Lumina, more muscular. But she didn't back down. They began circling each other, their eyes locked, their bodies tense and ready to strike.

Faye smiled as they rejoined the crowd in movement. "This is actually more fun than it is dreadful." Ryuu grinned, "I thought we'd be dead by now." "Careful, they could hear you." She warned, a slight grin on her face. "I'm not too worried about that. We've got Alpha Nick and a terrifying Emris." "Since when are you team Lycan?" "Um, since I had no choice but to stay here?" Today I wanted to face my fears and feed my eyes with their appearance. They all bowed their heads at Lyon, but I could still get a good stare. Most of them stood at around 5 '8 with a lean athletic build, their eyes were a bright piercing yellow, shaped like a wolf but with a soft innocent glint. Why were they looking so guileless? So innocent, it was hard to tell they were harmful. Maybe they were not as evil and dangerous as I thought. Maybe it was my perception of them. I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. The truth was right there, but fear tightened around my throat and swallowed it whole. And Damien… He hadn’t looked away once.
