The only thing that I knew was that we were outside of the room, our struggle with one another still very much heated at its peak and then, in a moment of wicked irony, gravity decided to join its forces in on our battle. We crashed into the banister, the force of our collision sending us falling downward. The world spun around me as I tumbled down the flight of stairs, my body jolting with pain at the impact on each of the several stairs. I clawed at the air, desperately reaching for something to hold on to and stop myself from falling any further than I already had, but my efforts at stopping my fall were in vain.

My back and head fell against them painfully as I bounced down the hard steps. Eventually I had enough momentum going, that he let go of me and I stumbled the rest of the way down the stairs. My body rolled against the marble steps as my head painfully ricocheted off each one. When I reached the bottom, it was all I could do to try and kneel to defend myself again.

My heel caught on something. I fell. I tumbled down the stairs. My body hit each step, my head hit something hard. Everything went black.

Every ounce of strength. She let go. Suddenly. My weight was already shifting backward from pulling so hard. My foot reached behind me, searching for solid ground. There was nothing. I’d forgotten where I was standing. Right at the edge of the stairs. My arms shot out, grasping desperately for the railing. My fingers brushed it but couldn’t hold on. I fell. My back slammed into the stairs. The air left my lungs. Then gravity took over. I was tumbling, my body hitting step after step. Each impact sent pain shooting through me.

As our eyes met, Linda's gaze sending shivers down my spine, I instinctively looked down and commenced my descent, without another thought. As I took just five steps, my world suddenly spiraled out of control. I found myself tumbling down the stairs, my body rolling uncontrollably until I finally landed on the hard floor, clutching my stomach in agony. A sharp, piercing pain tore through me, causing me to let out a desperate cry. I realized I was bleeding, and the realization only intensified my anguish. Unable to contain my torment, I screamed, the sound echoing through the air.

My chest rose and fell rapidly, anger overlaying the fear I was feeling. “Don’t call me names.” I warned. “Oh, my bad. I couldn’t scramble my head for better adjectives.” She sneered, “Now get out of my way, loser.” It suddenly happened like a bad dream. Bianca shoved me with a force that threw off my balance. My heels slid, then I felt a rush of air around me. I tumbled and rolled down the stairs, a screeching scream tearing from my lips. Finally, the thud of my fall sounded through the space as my head hit the floor. My life flashed before my eyes at the same time I heard gasps then my sight turned blurry.

I finally finished up organizing the files back into their different folders and closed the conference room door shut as I headed upstairs to my room. I absent-mindedly replied to some messages on my phone as I climbed, failing to realize that the last step at the head of the stairs was extremely slippery. I tried to grip the rail as I slipped but it was too late. My stomach dropped as I felt myself falling, unable to regain balance. Time slowed down as I tried to break my fall. My arms flailed wildly, and I landed with a thud on the hardwood floor, my head coming in contact with the last step at the foot of the stairs.

So before I fell completely I tried to reach the railing of the stairs so it stopped me from falling but my hand hurt from holding the railing so I kicked the stairs and jump and twirled mid-air befor

My house trailed to the stairs which disappeared into two walls that contained the rooms. I was relieved when I didn't see Austin, I walked in fully and shut the door slowly like a thief. Having done that, I tiptoed to the stairs, taking each step like a buccaneer. I was about to take the last step which would lead me to the narrow way that contained our rooms.
