I shoved her hard. I wanted her gone. I wanted her to stumble, to fall, to pay for everything. I didn’t care if she got hurt. I just wanted her gone. But she dodged it—fast, like she saw it coming. And then everything happened in slow motion. I felt the air shift under me. My own balance disappeared. My foot missed the edge of the step, and then I was falling down the stairs. I let out a scream as the stairs rushed up to meet me. Pain shot through my back and my arm as I landed, hard. Everything went blurry. My vision swam. I tasted blood in my mouth.

He was quite aware that falling from these stairs wouldn't affect him much, but Anna could get seriously hurt, and he absolutely did not want that. There must have been only about 16 steps on the staircase. But as Anna fell, it felt to her as if she had fallen from an unknown height, and the stairs seemed endless. When the stairs finally ended, and they both tumbled down onto the floor, only then did Anna breathe a sigh of relief.

I walked over to the stairs to see how many floors the main hall alone was. It was huge. I climbed the first step and the second and so on. I was on the fifth step or so when I held the railings of the stairs and the next thing that filled the air was iron crumbling to the ground. I was so scared wondering where the hell the sound was coming from until the stairs' railing in view fell to the floor. I gasped in shock and my hand flew over my mouth watching them fall one after the other. I didn’t know what to do

"Let go, Derek! It hurts!" Nathaniel shouted from behind, "Derek, stop!" But Derek was too emotional. He pulled me harder up the stairs. I tripped on the third step. My feet lost their footing. My body fell backward. I tumbled down. One... two... three steps. The suitcase slipped from my hand, falling first. My head hit the railing, my shoulder hit the wood, then my back. When I stopped halfway down the stairs, a sharp pain stabbed through my lower abdomen.

As long as I was able I refused to let that happen. I rolled down one complete flight of stairs. I had two more to go. I pulled myself up with the railing and used the momentum to fling myself down the stairs. I stumbled and made it down the second flight of stairs. I could hear Monica’s menacing laughter chase me down the stairs. She was getting close. I had to keep going. I had one more flight of stairs to go. I brace myself to keep going. I fling myself, and I stumble and roll down the last flight. I made it. I need to get to the elevator now. I start stumbling down the hall. Just when I think I am going to make it. My hair is yanked, and I am pulled back.

She growled in my face before pushing me backwards and letting me go. The floor disappeared from under my feet, and I frantically reached out swiping at thin air as I fell backwards. The floor was not there. It was then the realisation hit me that we were in the stairwell. I was falling and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I tried to protect my stomach as I crashed down step by step.

So, Nina walked right into it and immediately, she slipped. Nina’s eyes widened as she saw the world turn. She tried to control herself and steady her footing but whatever was poured on the stairs seemed to be specially made for slips. Her leg went down and she stumbled. She was falling. From this distance, she would definitely roll down the stairs. The injuries she would get wouldn’t be simple. Her heart dropped when she realized this.

Cole stumbled to his feet and bolted toward the stairs, his legs trembling so badly that he missed a step. With a loud thud, he tumbled down the staircase, landing in a heap at the bottom. The sharp pain brought a sliver of clarity to his frantic mind. Gritting his teeth, he grabbed the railing and pulled himself up, limping as he made his way back up the stairs. This time, he moved more slowly, and thankfully, there were no more accidents.

A teasing smile surfaced in Ken's face. The speed at which Roy jolted up from his imagination, rattled the kitchen door and some accessories beside the door—on the slab, fell down. Roy's heart downright leaped out from his chest.

I shrieked. My hands flew out, searching wildly for the smooth mahogany banister, but there was nothing to catch. Gravity tore me backward. The world inverted into a sickening blur of high ceilings, spinning chandeliers, and hard stone edges. My lower back slammed violently against the sharp corner of a stair, sending a blinding wave of white-hot agony shooting straight up my spine. I bounced, tumbling helplessly down the steep, unforgiving flight of stairs, unable to stop the momentum as my body cracked repeatedly against the marble steps.
