She stepped onto the staircase. One step. Two. Three. Her foot slipped. Suddenly— There was nothing beneath her. She fell forward. Hard. Her body tumbled down the stairs with a sickening thud. Dennis shouted. Katie screamed. Ethan, who had just walked back in through the door, froze in horror. Mira lay at the bottom of the stairs, stunned, pain radiating through her arm. Ethan rushed to her instantly. “Mira! Mira, talk to me!”

She had to go down some stairs. Her heart pounded in her chest as the fear that she would trip and fall down the stairs to the floor below, in front of all those people swelled. But what could she do? She had to go down the stairs. There were only ten of them,so perhaps there was still a chance that she could make it down the lot of them without falling.

The stairs were slippery because it was raining outside. She was walking carefully, but her legs were weak from hunger. She hadn’t eaten lunch because Tiffany spilled the food on the floor and told her to clean it instead. Step… step… Her foot slipped. “Ahhh!” She lost her balance. The basket flew in the air, and she tumbled down the stairs. Thud! Thud! Thud! Pain exploded all over her body. She landed hard on the floor at the bottom of the stairs. Her head spun, and she saw stars. Her arm was twisted in an awkward position, and she couldn’t move it.

That was, until I reached the stairs. Just as I placed my foot on the top step, I heard it. A whisper. Too faint to make out. A shift in the air. I turned, the hairs on my arms standing upright. And then— Pain. A force hit me from behind, hard. My breath caught. My body pitched forward. There was no time to react. No time to scream. My feet flew out from under me. I fell. Tumbling down the marble stairs, my limbs flailing, head hitting something hard, vision sparking. The world spun, tilted, shattered.

Then, her pair of brown eyes spotted a magnificent staircase in the middle of the grand entrance. 'Let's see what the second floor has,' She thought. Then Grace stepped on the wooden stairs slowly, just to hear the creaking sound. However, she paid no attention to it; She didn't care. All she wanted was to reach the second floor, and according to her, the stairs should be strong enough to support her light body. Grace continued to step into the middle of the stairs. Until ... CRACK! BANG! The last thing Grace remembered was that she fell down the stairs, and everything went dark.

Any second now, the whole thing would come down. We were three steps from the bottom when the stairs gave way. We fell. I twisted mid-air, taking the impact on my back. Pain exploded through my body. The girl landed on top of me, unhurt. "Run!" I gasped. "Out the door!" She ran. I tried to follow. My leg wouldn't hold my weight. Something was wrong. Broken, probably. Shit. The ceiling above groaned. Cracked. Started to fall. I closed my eyes.

She walked faster stood in front of me blocking my way to the stairs, then she started backing off slowly, heading towards the stairs. “What are you doing?” I snapped in frustration, witnessing her sly smile as she continually walked backwards until she reached the edge of the stairs. Suddenly, she let out a chilling scream and allowed herself to fall, dramatically rolling down the staircase. I stood stunned couldn’t comprehend what had just happened. She had fallen, and the chaos that ensued was overwhelming. She threw herself down the stairs and fell. She lay at the end of the stairs writhing in pain. “Help, she pushed me.” She cried.

I replied. Stacy turned on the faucet. She washed her hands, but her eyes were on my reflection in the mirror. And no lie, I could still hear her sniggering even though it was slightly disguised by the flowing water. "It's hard when you're climbing several flights of stairs at once," she said casually. "And even if you succeed, you'll definitely stagger, or you might even fall to the bottom of the stairs." "Excuse me?" I said, feeling offended.
