Her foot missed the edge. For a split second, she hung there…then she fell. Her back hit the five steps, then her body tumbled, rolling down the stairs. She screamed once, sharp and terrified then nothing but the sound of impact. Thud. Thud. Thud. Rosina froze, her heart stopping as she watched Mrs Camilla fall all the way down. All fifteen steps. At the bottom, her body hit the marble floor hard. Bam. Her head struck with a sickening crack and blood pooled instantly beneath her, spreading fast through her hair.

The rest of my body trembles when I find myself at a loss of words. “ Y—Yes. ” I stutter through my dry mouth. “ How many times are you going to fall down the stairs? ” He whispers, surprising me.

My big ass belly is so big he has to carry me bridal style down the stairs. I'm no longer allowed to walk down the stairs because I almost fell last time. It's not my fault I can't see the next step in front of me because my stomach is so big! I was trying to come downstairs by myself after a nap and I couldn't see the next step and missed it. A strained, prolonged gasp leaves my lips as I stand at the start of stairs. My fingers rests on the railing at the start of the stairs as I try to walk down. I feel my feet slipping down the first step, missing its direction and slowly yet suddenly, my body falls down the stairs. A loud scream leaves my lips as I tumble down, hitting every step till I land on the floor of the living room. My breathing seems slower and heavy. My vision is blurred. . . With tears or blood? That I do not know, all I know is that it’s difficult to see and attempting to move is just as unbearable.

The stairs end in the main entryway. I just need to get down the flight, cross the room and open the doors. Dimitri and Zoran will be outside. I’m going to make it. My feet take the stairs in three as I jump down them. And then something lands my back. Something hard and painful. And I lose my balance. I reach for the wooden railing. But I miss it. The sharp edges of the stairs stare up at me as I crash towards them. Grief fills me as my arms extend to catch myself.
