Every story has a beginning, some good, some bad, mine has never been a happy one, no matter who, or how I tell it, nobody will believe me. I can't rely on the people in my life, My parents ignore me, or are cruel to me, my friends are unreliable, and aren't trustworthy either. So what happens when I turn 16 years old, and run away from my problems to another world, only to find myself in the same magical world I played make belief in as a kid? With heartbreak at every turn, and a possible new relationship on the horizon, what could possibly go wrong in this world that hasn't happened to me on Earth?!

Lydia snapped, glaring at him. She muttered a spell, and the walls turned translucent, revealing countless identical objects floating in the void beyond. Their glowing red outlines gave them an ominous appearance. “You have no intention of letting us leave, do you?” she asked. The object pulsed. “Leave the girl chosen by the tortoise, and I will let the rest of you go.” 'It means me,' I thought, a chill running down my spine. The boss stepped forward, placing himself between me and the machine. His voice dropped to a whisper, so low I had to heighten my senses to catch it. “Girl, be honest with me. You use fire magic, and you have heightened senses. Are you a hybrid?”

Keran's eyes widened and he grins and walks up to me. "Can you show me it," he grins excitedly. I lifted my fingers and the blue flame flickered across the tips. Keran chuckled and shook his head. "You're taking after your grandfather, you just need a staff and you'd be exactly like him in power," he chuckles. I opened my hand and a long black staff grew, the blue flame appeared on the top wrapped in intricate filigree. Keran's eyes widened and his mouth dropped open. His amazement was written clearly on His face.

“Your mom had a hard time too, but she was a badass with a dagger.” My lips twitched into a smile. “Thanks…” I tried to focus, but I couldn’t feel what he was hoping I would. He picked one up, it glowed in his hands, and he handed it to me. My shoulders slumped as I got back to my seat beside Duke. I looked down at the slowly fading staff and huffed. I wouldn’t fall behind. There had to be a way for me to figure out how to use my magic now that my restraint was gone. The training hall buzzed with energy as I adjusted the grip on my sparring staff.

The room seemed to hold its breath. As her fingers closed around the staff, a radiant glow burst forth, enveloping Simone in a soft golden light. The runes along the staff’s surface flared to life, and the crystal at its tip blazed with a brilliance that lit up the entire room. A gentle breeze swept through, carrying a sense of peace and renewal. I gasped, unable to tear my eyes away from the sight. Simone stood tall, her expression one of awe and determination. The staff seemed to hum in harmony with her, as though it had been waiting for her all along.

It was Aodh himself and the strength and power held in one hand, flicking Finn and me to the ground easily like we were gnats. It was his staff that gave him power. I had told Lamia and Kellen this, though they already knew. It was his staff that allowed him to cross through openings. Long and made of black wood with an amber stone that sat atop of it in branches that curled like claws. That was my goal. Once we reached Aodh, I was going for that staff and breaking it into pieces. It may cost me my life but by the gods, I would complete my mission come hell or heaven.

The Matron’s voice rang out. “Lily Thane, for unparalleled control, for mastery beyond her years, we bestow upon you your very own magic Staff.” Clapping exploded across the room like a sudden storm. Lily picked up the staff. Waves of light ran down it. Radiant - that's how she appeared. The other children near me whispered. “Lily is so cool.” “She’s going to be legendary.” “How does she do it?” My eyes dropped to my palms - bare. Not a stick. Silence instead of cheers.

Jiniya spoke, her eyes sparkling and her body tingling from excitement as it was the first time she was about to pass the alley way again after so many years. Impressed by the Princess’s story Lyon simply watched as Jiniya used water magic to design a long staff with a very extensive hook at the end. With a huge smile on her face she pushed the staff through the wall where it actually passes the wall. Her excitement elevated as her body began to twitch, her voice giggling like a child. Twisting and turning the hook-ended-staff, she tried to pull something from within the wall.

I could not take that, my eyes going down to her. “ I am coming with you. She will be scared when she wakes up and I can’t just give her to you when we don’t know your intentions of her.” I said out, the God before me turning around. In his hand was suddenly a golden staff , its head shaped like tree branches. He hit it on the ground once and it shook. My heart beat even harder. I did not know what I was doing but I would do it for Raven. I was scared and rightly so but I would swallow my fear and do what I thought was best for the beautiful girl in my arms who was not even just a girl. I blinked, taking a deep breath. “ Your majesty.” A voice came.

Finally we reached his lovely house, it was a beautiful house with wooden walls and roof just like I had in my world such a wolf taste even though there was nothing extraordinary about the house and green plants in front of his house but when he opened the main door of his house a whip of scent came inside my nostrils and I inhaled a deep breath, I could sense a strong scent of werewolves, not just one werewolf but two different werewolves. Lucky me!
