Cassidy let out a yip of horror that echoed in the silent village. A Fox Shifter. Cassidy was a Fox. Terror coursed through her smaller body. In all her pleading with the Moon Goddess, she had never thought she would be so terribly cursed. She would be torn limb from limb by the crowd. Shifting to the Fox was a death sentence. Neither prey nor an apex predator, the Fox was an outlier in Shifter society. The crowd roared as one as the High Priestess lifted her. "Run Cassidy, no-clan, and know that pain is only temporary." She whispered softly, before tossing Cassidy into the waiting crowd.

'You need to warn them of what they are going to see…' Caleb kisses my forehead then gets up, heading to the entrance of the tent as all look at him expectant. He looks at me then at them and says only a few words. "I am a shapeshifter… I have the ability to shape into a Dragon. And I am going to use it now to win," He then turns around and walks away.

Her father is sending Daya and her sisters away; all five of them are crying. Daya meets Sage. Daya gets her wolf and has her first shift. I see her first time in battle; her first time taking a life. All of it. I see all of her. And I realize that she is seeing all of me too.
