She said as a sudden wash of confidence washed over her. “ Ohh I was so scared the almighty Irene threatened me. My legs shook and my heart leaped but not in joy but in fear” Alice said as she micmiked a character of mockery. “ You think I was scared?”

It must be, right? “What’s in these files?” Amy calls out to me from the storage closet in my office. I promised Daya that I would try and find out how Calvin came to purchase this land, and whom he purchased it through. Daya said Amy is a nerd when it comes to werewolf pack history, so she is helping me sift through all the files. She’s definitely not like her sisters. She’s a guy in some ways- outspoken, curses a lot, no filter. She’s tiny too. Daya and her other sisters are around 5’5 to 5’7. Amy is a munchkin. She can’t be more than five feet. Her dark eyes watch me intently. “I heard something in the woods,” I answer her. “You don’t think someone is watching us do you?” She asks nervously. Sarah is our resident scaredy-cat. Literally. She is a beautiful, regal tiger who is afraid of everything outside of our pack. She fears the day the humans discover our secret and come for her sweet little Al, who is all of 5 years old. I sigh heavily and walk over to her, placing my hand on her shoulders. “There is nothing there to fear, Sarah. It was just a deer.”

“She fears losing Rockan. She fears becoming a weapon. She fears she will disappoint you. And she fears that, in the end, you will choose your bloodline over her.” My throat tightened painfully. I wanted to swing at it. Wanted to scream. Wanted to collapse. But I knew better. It wanted a reaction. It wanted me unbalanced. So I took a slow breath and said, “If you’re trying to break me, you’re going to have to try harder.” The creature’s grin faltered just slightly. Good. I stepped back, gathering what little energy I still had. “Because whatever you are… whatever you pulled from her mind… it isn’t truth. It’s fear. And fear isn’t real unless we let it control us.”

The creature roared loudly, displaying a piece of human flesh still caught between its teeth, before leaping straight toward her face. Crash! Alice jolted awake, staggering from her chair before falling onto the cold floor of her room. Cold sweat covered her entire body. Her breathing came rapidly, her chest rising and falling as if she had just finished running a marathon. She clutched her own neck, making sure there was no torn muscle or blood flowing from it.

Out of the corner of her eye, she looked at Valencia and when her eyes fell on the little girl, Sarah quickly looked away. There it was, the same look of horror and fear that she had seen on her face back in the forest. Valencia had hoped that Sarah might have been nervous about the hycwens invading their territory or the battle and the deaths might have scared her. How horribly wrong she had been! Sarah was afraid of her, the archon alpha, and nobody knew it. Not until now! Valencia tried thinking of what might be the reasons behind the little girl not even wanting to look at her but she couldn't think of anything.

A small smile shown on Alice's pink lips. Most of the day was just a normal day that was until fifth period. As Alice went past one of the empty classrooms the door opened and Jared and some girl she did not know with sex hair went to come out. The room reeked of their activities. Alice growled low at Jared and moved to go around him. But he heard her growl and grabbed her arm and pushed her up against a few of the lockers. " What is your problem?" He growled out. "Jealous?"

Alice had her gown gathered up to her belly, and he held her by the hips; she wore only a black dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and the veins protruding. Alice Winters is a prudent and immaculate student representative by day and a poisonous, bitchy-nice slut by night. She once told me I wasn't "sorority material." She sprawled on Dr. Wolfe's table, slutting it out. Who isn't sorority material now, you bitch? I reached for my phone to record them. I knew it was wrong, but I'd use it to blackmail him to pass my next test. Her skirt gathered around her waist as her hands clawed at his back. He spoke dirty words into her ear in a raspy snarl.

Alice said looking at me mockingly. At that moment I was about to answer, but a shout suddenly rang out, "Enough, I didn't come here to listen to this shit. Shut the fuck up, Alice!" insinuated Freddy with an almost furious tone before getting up with a huff. My eyes widened like two saucers when I heard Freddy's scream. His alpha aura was felt in his every word, causing Alice to rock back and lower her eyes trembling. "There's no need for this. You're scaring her" I said to Freddy.
