“What was I supposed to do? Let that rogue get to her? She wandered off alone, Daxtor. Alone. How the hell was I going to protect her otherwise?” I stayed completely still, trying to breathe slowly like I was unconscious. My heart was pounding hard. Rogue? Protect? What were they talking about? Jane’s voice came next, softer but worried. “Why was she even attacked? She’s just… she doesn’t know anything about this world.” Before Daxtor could answer, Cassian cut in, his tone sharp and mean. “Because she’s a human. A mere weak human that knows nothing about protecting herself. She runs around like the world is safe and expects us to clean up after her.”

the woman said with a wide, unnerving smirk that made me want to rip it right off her face. Flaring my nostrils, I spat at the woman, but she stepped back and shook her head unimpressed. "And there you go, a rogue in her natural form," she said in a mocking tone, her lips curling back. "A bitch." "Why am I here against my will?" I snapped. "You stole from us and you're a rogue," she said. "I stole from humans and since when is it a crime to be a rogue?" She stepped forward and grabbed my hair, before pulling my head back. "You're not allowed to talk back, Mutt!"

They had been tricked by none other than a hated enemy. One by one the Rogues step out of the clearing. Their deep yellow eyes on me. I hear the scuffs of their large feet as they take a few steps to be closer to me. A smirk appears on Knox’s face. “Bring him to me!” A female Rogue with tufts of yellow fur moves in front of me, her yellow eyes staring deep into mine. She doesn’t move a muscle. “You speak the truth?” Her soft voice is in my head. I thought I could only link mum and dad, but her voice is clear as day. “He really feeds on orphans?”

But if they turned her away and she truly could save him… Arnold would still die. Ruztom suddenly understood why Helter looked like he was barely holding himself together. “Let me ask you something first,” Ruztom said slowly. His eyes narrowed at the woman. He still could not tell what she was. Werewolf. Lycan. Rogue. Nothing about her made sense. “Are you from the lycan packs?” The woman answered immediately. “No.” Then her gaze sharpened slightly. “I’m a rogue.” The reaction was instant.

A rogue as a mate was, in fact, a hidden blessing. The females in established packs tended to be rough, limited by stale traditions and stupid fertility rules; some even only allowed themselves to fuck their mates when the moon was at its highest point. But the rogues... they were different. They tended to be females filled with wild, untamed lust. They took orders from no one but their man and were fucking bold, experts at surviving on their own.

A bead of sweat slides down her cheek and down to her chin; she's pretty nervous. I opened my mouth, hesitant, but before I could speak up, she stepped in front of me. “I've discovered my mate, and it's Remy," she announced, unwavering. Must have bit back the fear at the last minute. The silence fell, as if our words had vanished into the walls. The alpha's expression darkened, his aura now polluted with anger. "A Rogue?” He spat, venom dripping from his words. “You would choose a man of stature over a lowly rogue?”

I didn’t want pity from the Rogue Alpha or anyone else. “Well, well.” I turned and found Clover standing at the top of the stairs, her expression somewhere between smug and pleased. She must have been listening or waiting for this exact moment. “The Rogue Alpha,” she said, descending the stairs with slow, deliberate steps. “Father really outdid himself this time. Not a loving mate or a respected Alpha, but a feared rogue no decent woman would choose willingly.” She expected me to feel ashamed or defensive. I could see it in the way she smiled, waiting for me to crumble.

She carried no scent at all. Not lycan. Not werewolf. Nothing. “Are you from the lycan pack?” “No,” the woman answered calmly. “I am a rogue.” The entire cave reacted instantly. Growls erupted. Claws slid free. Several warriors stepped forward, ready to attack her at the first wrong movement. But the woman did not even flinch. “I am not a lycan,” she said evenly. “I am not part of the lycan rogues or Guerero’s pack. I am alone.”

This is like a mob visit. "You wish you could handle me. Besides, I don't like weak, frail, and disgusting old men. They don't have enough backbone for a ROGUE like me! " I growl, my grey blue eyes glowing with purple flakes. I yelled through the door. I knew challenging his manhood and telling him I was a rogue knocking on his packhouse door would draw him out. Stupid Alpha.

“A rogue...you’re a rogue.” It seems his whispered words got through to everyone for she became the centre of attention. Growls could be heard and yet instead of moving, instead of running for her life, she stood unmoving in her place. Rogues were frowned upon, they weren’t allowed anywhere near packs, especially not this one. She had been too bold, but right now, she didn’t care. Despite the commotion in the room, her eyes searched for Xavier, not being able to spot him through the crowd that had surrounded her.
