Then— “Arria…” his voice softened but didn’t lose its edge. “Did they ask for your consent?” The memory came back instantly—clear and warm.

Instead, he held out something wrapped in cloth. “Found this near where we fought earlier,” he said. I unwrapped it slowly. A metal shard. Thin, curved. The surface etched with a symbol—one I hadn’t seen in years, but one that made my stomach drop instantly. A circle split down the middle. On one side, the mark of the Forsaken Wolves. On the other, a crude carving of a serpent. I whispered, “This can’t be real.” Fenrir stepped closer. “You recognize it.”

I gasp at how tall he has become, he is both terrifying and beautiful to behold, like a wonderful statue. A rock by my feet falls and the sound causes Aiden's werewolf ears to go flat and he sniffs the air. He finds me within seconds and scratches my arms. He holds my body above the ocean cliffs.
