Shoving the book into my backpack, I pull the straps tight onto my shoulders before carefully stepping out of the rubble at my feet until I am outside. Going downhill takes much less time than going uphill, and I make it to the broken truck in no time.

Humming for a moment, she got up and this time I followed her as she wove through the rows of books. Stopping near the back, she looked up at the shelf, narrowing her eyes. “What kind of information are you looking for exactly?” “Territory lines, alliances, past Alphas, that kind of stuff.” Her head turned slightly to me, a wry smile on her face. “You mean information a new Alpha would need?” Chuckling, I nodded. She reached up and took a huge book off the shelf. It wasn’t just thick but was also triple the size of a normal book. My eyes widened as I took it.
