Stupidly, she forgot her blade, which meant her only option was to fight in wolf form.
‘Ember. Get ready.’ She said internally to her wolf. She felt Ember pushing forward. She just hoped this time would be one of her quick shifts.
The first rogue lunged. And Lyra shifted.
Her wolf exploded outward in a rush of heat and power, fur bristling, teeth snapping. She met the rogue mid‑air, slamming him into the ground with a snarl.
The others hesitated.
Lyra growled, low and deadly.
They circled again. But this time, she circled with them.
