Beyond Redemption
I pressed my burning palm against the shard.
The scream this time was louder, angrier. The ground trembled, the air vibrating with power.
I pushed harder, pouring everything into the fire. It climbed up my arms, wrapped around my chest, spilled from my mouth in a cry that echoed through the trees.
The shard cracked.
Edward howled behind me, his silver wolf tearing another creature apart. Mara shouted something, but I couldn’t hear her over the sound of the shard breaking.
It split in two, then four, until it collapsed into dust.
