I grabbed one book carefully but as I did, another fell out. I dropped the one I had picked and picked up the one that had fallen on the floor instead. I opened it up and began reading it and only then did I realize that it was a spell book, an ancient Vampire spell book for making certain types of potions. The writing was slightly different from usual and it was faded but I was somehow able to read it.

Most of the books had scribbles but I really didn't mind as long as I could read. Something caught my eye behind a stack of Enid Blyton's books on the upper shelf. Something shiny.
