Shadow nodded, wiped his nose against the back of his wrist, and went to the fridge in search of a beer. Something was not right, Raven agreed with Shadow’s assessment. It was Friday, five o’clock. Sex club night. It should be a time for sexy making, not Shadow crying in the kitchen. Was it that Gregory Holmsworth was kicking off, or what? He opened the bedroom door.

"Focus. Stay rooted. Predict its next move." She adjusted her stance, her feet shifting to maintain her balance as the shadow loomed over her. Each clash of their blades sent vibrations up her arms, but she stood her ground, her strikes growing more confident with each passing moment. The shadow swung high, and Bella swiftly ducked, using the momentum to spin and strike at its side. Her blade connected, causing the shadow to stagger, its form flickering like a candle in the wind. A triumphant grin spread across my face as I couldn't help but exclaim, "Yes! That's it! Use its aggression against it!"

Luckily, there is not much in it, so his head fits. Ducking beneath him, she opens the door to the freezer and sifts through it until she finds an ice tray. The classroom was dimly lit, the only light filtering through the tall windows, casting long shadows across the desks. Charlie, Ethan, Maya, and Liam sat in a row, their eyes glued to the clock on the wall, the second hand ticking away the last few minutes of fifth period. The teacher droned on about lunar phases, but their minds were elsewhere, the day had dragged on and now they were merely minutes away from free period. The lights in the room seemed to fade, and the children faded around her: Everything disappeared, and she was left alone in that cold, dark room. The metallic smell of blood laced through the room, and she turned around to be surrounded by the ghost of those children. They were covered in blood. Some of their arms and legs twisted abnormally and some sustained deep wounds. She wanted to run, but she couldn’t. Her feet were glued to where she stood. Her shadows streamed to cover the floor, creeping up the wall in a dark mass and insects fell to the floor everywhere there shadows touched. Freya closed her eyes with a sigh, it felt like freedom. Her shadows creeped over the wall and with a shove, she broke the door in and strode out. No, nothing could hold her at all. With long even strides, she started heading for the stairs, her shadows creeping along in a dark carpet and killing everything it touched.
